In order to study the accident characteristics of prone months,prone locations,main causes,high-occurrence periods,and drivers of responsible parties in Guiyang ’s urban road minor traffic accidents,the massive data on urban minor road traffic accidents processed and collected by the Traffic Accident Express and Quick Compensation Center of Guiyang Public Security and Transportation Administration from 2010 to 2018 are analyzed and studied by using the methods of multivariate statistical analysis,traffic engineering quality control,and big data collision comparison.The main content of the paper is as follows.First of all,based on the ward’s minimum variance method,the total number of accident records in the month is clustered systematically.The results of the study show that the month of accidents has the attribute of month,and the number of accidents in winter months is high.Further,in order to prevent the occurrence of traffic accidents,suggestions are made to formulate traffic maintenance rectification plans for phased months and to suppress traffic accidents with special traffic actions.Secondly,based on the traffic engineering quality control method,the accident-prone locations are excavated.The results of the study show that roundabout level crossings are more accident-prone than cross level crossings.Further,suggestions for adding or optimizing signal control in traffic monitoring and rationally marking signs and markings in traffic design are proposedThirdly,based on the principal component analysis method,the causes of accidents in the two sets of accident-responsible party data sets are analyzed,and the risk of minor traffic accidents in urban areas during the sub-period is defined and studied.The results of the study show that ’failure to give way’ and ’rear-end’ are the two main causes of minor road accidents,and the sub-periods of [08: 00-09: 00],[09: 00-10: 00] and [17: 00-18: 00] are the top three sub-periods with high risk.Further,suggestions on the special investigation and punishment of illegal behaviors and the strengthening of police force allocation in key periods should beput forward in traffic services.Finally,based on the big data collision comparison method,massive road minor traffic accidents data and the simple procedure and general procedure traffic accident data entered into the public security accident handling platform are related to collision,and the principal component analysis is used to analyze the gender characteristics of the responsible drivers.The results of the study show that the big data collision comparison method can delineate the key population of drivers who prevent traffic accidents.Male and female drivers have different focuses on the causes of minor road accidents.Further,road traffic management work strategies such as driver training and publicity education to prevent traffic accidents have been proposed.
