| With the rapid development of economy in China, millions of people have cars, and the lack of parking space has become one of the biggest problems. With the intensive development of urban land, where land resources are increasingly reducing,in order to save the urban land as much as possible. The large-scale development of underground space has become an inevitable trend for the development of urbanization.Underground garages have also become a reasonable response to the contradiction of traffic and parking. At present, the space design of underground garages has little consideration for human space recognition. When the users are in the underground garage, because of the negative underground location, the lighting and ventilation are poor of course, people usually feel claustrophobic, which can easily lead insecure and fearful emotion making people not willing to use underground garage.Similarly, less consideration is given to human visual recognition. The light environment is an important factor in the design of the physical environment of the underground space.Light brings a sense of security.Dark places particularly have crime actions.A good light environment is a prerequisite for good visual recognition.Due to the lack of systematic theoretical guidance, the existing codes and design methods usually only focus on the simple functions, such as being able to find parking spaces in time and see obstacles effectively. However, there is no concern about the psychological feelings of people in underground garages. At present, there is no or lack of qualitative and quantitative standards for psychological feelings in domestic underground garage codes in China.Related academic theoretical research based on spatial and visual recognition in underground space is currently scarce as well.Aiming to summarize a theory about current research of urban public underground garages, based on spatial and visual recognition, analyze the relationship between psychological feelings and space elements. To gain the physical environment of underground garages, using experimental measurements, questionnaire surveys, and data analysis to summarize the factors that affect urban public garages, and summarize quantitative indicators of the psychological feelings of underground garages. The research is highly targeted to close to human emotion needs, and its results can be used as the theoretical basis for perfecting the architectural design and lighting design specifications, and providing a powerful reference for the majority of architects as well. This research begins with the following seven chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, which proves the necessity of the research and clarify the problems which will be solved by explaining the factors including research background, research purpose and significance, research scope, research content and proposed problems, research methods and framework. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the research. It explained the function and psychological needs of the underground garage in detail. The underground parking garage not only needs good parking and wayfinding functions, but also needs the sense of security, comfort, clarity, ease, and fun.The sense of light is also very important.Based on the theory of ergonomics, analyzing the factors that affect the user’s psychological feeling by considering architectural design and architectural light environment. This chapter supports the foundation for the third survey, the fourth chapter and the sixth chapter. The third chapter is the survey and measurement of urban public underground garages.According to the relevant theories mentionged above, experiments, surveying, mapping and image recording were used to investigate the public underground parking garages in five typical cities at domestic and abroad. The spatial identification method was adopted to investigate the spatial characteristics. The visual identification method was used to measure the physical light environment.Through methods mentioned the spatial characteristics and physical environment could be described, and detailed information summary, explanation of spatial recognition and visual recognition elements could be figured out as well.It is found that the current public underground garage in the city does have negative psychological feelings indeed, which validates the discussion in the research background of this article, indicating that there are certain problems in the survey sample space environment and targeted spatial optimization is needed. The fourth chapter is the evaluation results and analysis of psychological feelings. The carding of the theoretical foundation based on the psychological feeling evaluation system highlights the key role of SD method in connecting spatial recognition, visual recognition and psychological feeling. Moreover, this chapter explains and elaborates the process of questionnaire design, distribution and recovery. The emphasis is the evaluation results and correlation analysis of users’ psychological feelings. The correlation analysis mainly about the relationship among psychological feelings, spatial characteristics and the physical light environment.Obtaining the research elements that affect the user’s various psychological feelings in the underground garage, analyzing the degree of influence of each research element based on behavioral observation and analysis.By observing the users in the underground garage, understanding the user’s staying time, action sequence, etc.,so as to further verify the problems and optimization strategies of the underground garage. The fifth chapter is the correlation experiment verification. The purpose of this experiment is to control the single variable to obtain the psychological feelings of the users of urban public underground garages. Also it verify the correlation between the research elements and psychological feelings in Chapter 4.By verifying the correlation of psychological feelings based on various factors, the accuracy of the correlation is verified, and the deficiencies of the original correlation are also explained. The sixth chapter proposes the optimization strategy.Based on the previous results of the correlation analysis mentioned above, each of the research elements is analyzed in detail, optimization strategy description of the research elements is made as well.Based on the spatial characteristics of spatial recognition and the physical light environment based on visual recognition, respectively.qualitative and quantitative optimization strategies are proposed. The seventh chapter is conclusion, summarizes the main research conclusions and main research results of the thesis, and puts forward the limitations of the research and prospects for future research directions. |
