| Urban memorial space is an important component of urban archetype and the public space with the most cultural,historical and artistic charm in the city.It reflects the memory and inner spiritual world of human beings,carries the memorial activities of national society,plays a special role in shaping the consensus of citizens and national cohesion,and has multiple values in human,economic and ecological aspects.At the same time,urban memorial space is also one of the space types with the highest degree of freedom in design and creation,because it is coupled with human subjective thinking process like language,and uses vocabulary and spatial structure combination to express the memory of characters and events,which has many analogies with the research object of Narratology.Since the West entered the post-modern society,narratology has changed from classical narratology to post-classical narratology,and began to pay attention to people’s differentiated emotions and extend to many fields,among which spatial narratology is a branch.At the same time,the design of urban memorial space has also changed from the classical geometric composition and grand narrative of memorial to the diversified theme,emotion,form and technique of memorial.Both of them have been studying human feelings together since the present age,which provides an opportunity for the communication between space design and narratology.China has not yet entered the post industrial society,and there are still many remains of classicism in the existing urban memorial space.However,many new ideas and new techniques have emerged in the design of many new memorial space recently,but more out of the inertia of design thinking,the old ideas are still used to design the urban memorial space,and the large-scale classical composition and passive narrative still exist,no It can meet people’s more delicate spiritual and emotional needs in the new era.We should have some understanding and Reflection on this,and explore more different from the traditional urban memorial space design ideas,narrative is an important direction.For the research on the design of urban memorial space from the perspective of narratology,this paper uses the theory of narratology to construct the research framework to get the practical methods,using these methods to return to practice again,to test the existing narrative status of urban memorial space,and to give the memorial space optimization design strategy that can improve the narrative efficiency.The second chapter of this paper is theoretical research,which demonstrates the feasibility of analogy and reference between urban memorial space and narratology.According to the research results of Professor long Diyong,the design problems faced by memorial space are analyzed as story space,psychological space,behavior space and existence space.The third chapter is the case study.Firstly,it introduces the expression of narrative symbols,narrative time,narrative space and narrative angle in memorial space.On this basis,it summarizes the design methods of urban memorial space with narrative significance by analyzing the excellent cases at home and abroad.The fourth and fifth chapters of this paper are empirical studies.By investigating the memorial themes,emotions,structural sequences and detailed scenes of many urban memorial spaces in Chongqing,this paper analyzes the problems existing in these spaces from the perspective of narratology,including fragmented narrative,grand narrative and old narrative.Based on the optimization principle of improving narrative efficiency,aiming at these problems,from four angles of exploring narrative story space,Deepening Narrative psychological space,shaping narrative form space and exploring narrative existence space,the paper puts forward four items: "Clear memorial space theme","Express memorial space emotion","Integrate memorial space structure" and "Enrich memorial space design techniques" as key strategies. |
