Abstract/Summary:
Frontier scheduling of container terminals is an important part of terminal production operations. There are many factors that will affect the frontier scheduling of container terminals, including weather, vessel schedule, operation conditions of facilities and equipment, and service requirements, etc. Therefore, adjusting and optimizing the berth and quay crane scheduling plan in accordance with changes among these factors owns an important significance for terminals to improve the producing efficiency of the terminal.Based on comprehensive analysis, this paper studies the berth and quay crane scheduling of container terminals based on multi-source information.Firstly, the production operation process and characteristics of the container terminal were analyzed, the multiple information sources involved in container terminal scheduling were classified, the degree of information disruption was measured. Then, the corresponding scheduling method was determined, and integrated scheduling process based on multi-source information for berths and quay crane were analyzed.Secondly, considering the characteristics of container terminal scheduling under multi-source information environment,a two-stage scheduling model was designed to deal with the disruption of multi-source information on the scheduling plan.In the first stage,a robust scheduling method was adopted, which actively absorbs frequently-occurring small information influences, and increases the robustness of the plan by adding a buffer time method. Also, the customer’s priority service information in the model was taken into account,so that the objective function can meet the service index and improve the robustness index. In the second stage,a disruption management method was adopted. When encountering the information influence of too much disruption,we have to adjust the benchmark plan passively. At this time, the new plan aims at minimizing the compound cost,as far as possible to achieve the original target plan, and minimized the negative impact of information disruption on the terminal system, and then made reasonable adjustments to the plan.Thirdly,an improved genetic algorithm was designed to solve the two-stage mathematical model. The multi-layer coding method was used to transform the ship information into the information genes on the chromosome. The combination of roulette and elite retention strategies was used to select the population,so as to prevent the regression of the evolution process and speed up the genetic evolution efficiency of the algorithm.Besides, the traditional adaptive genetic algorithm was improved to balance the global optimization and convergence speed,so as to improve the performance of the algorithm. The effectiveness and applicability of the method and algorithm were verified by numerical analysis of both models. The results of numerical examples show that the robust benchmark scheduling plan considers customer service priority information more in line with actual needs.Compared with the traditional method,it proves that new method can effectively improve the antidisruption ability of the terminal system and ensure the plan can be smoothly executed in most cases. The sensitivity analysis of the priority weighting coefficient and the robust weighting coefficient can provide decision reference for terminal managers. The disruption recovery scheduling plan can effectively reduce the total compound cost of the terminal when facing a large degree of information disruption.Taking the time cost and recovery cost as two decision-making trade-off criteria,it can meet the interests of both the port and the shipping company at the same time.
