Analysis Of The "Old House And New Residence" Project In The Protection Of Suzhou Ancient City

In 2012,Suzhou was announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development as the only national historical and cultural city protection demonstration area to date.This is an affirmation of the 30 years of ancient city protection work since it was listed as the first batch of national historical and cultural cities in 1982.Over the past 30 years,Suzhou Ancient City Protection has successively carried out works such as new houses,reconstruction of neighbourhoods,and organic renewal of historical and cultural blocks.Among them,"Tongfang Lane" is a typical neighbourhood reconstruction,and "Pingjiang Road" is a typical historical and cultural neighbourhood Protection,there are many records of analysis of research results.However,as the opening work of ancient city protection,pre-exploration of neighborhood reconstruction,and successful practice of the protection of the style of houses,the "old house new residence" project has not been studied in depth.At the same time,compared with Beijing,which is also a famous historical and cultural city,the research on the protection and utilization of a large number of traditional residential houses in the ancient city of Suzhou has rarely conducted comprehensive and in-depth investigations and thoughts on the implemented projects.Based on the above background,this article selects the "old mansion and new house" which was the early exploration project of Suzhou’s ancient city protection work 30 years ago and the starting point of the neighborhood reconstruction.Three of the pilot houses of the "Old House" were listed in the first batch of controlled security buildings in Suzhou after being certified by experts in 2003.They show a continuous impact,which not only has an experimental significance for the early exploration of the neighborhood in the 1990 s,but also protects the ancient city.Work also has enlightenment and has great research value.However,due to a long time ago,one of the transformation achievements faced the difficulty of demolition,the majority of residents and builders undergoing transformation and other research difficulties.It is more and more difficult to conduct an in-depth comprehensive analysis of it,which has the urgency of research.The first chapter(theoretical basis)of this article firstly conducts a literature review of the related research on the protection of the ancient Suzhou city and traditional houses;the second chapter(basic background)sorts out the history of the protection of the ancient Suzhou city in stages,discusses the value and status of traditional houses and proves their protection and utilization The urgency of the study;Chapter 3(Factual Basis)collates the survey data of 4 residential houses in the "Old House and New Residence" project.On this basis,the fourth chapter is based on the previous theory,background and current situation analysis,and draws on the relevant research for comparison,and finally with a view to reviewing the impact of the "Old House and New Residence" project on the protection of Suzhou ancient city in the 1990 s and its follow-up,and dig out its special The experience enlightens,further supplements the existing research results,and provides a reference for the protection of the ancient city.
