Research On The Design Of Public Service Facilities In Old Communities Under The Concept Of Sharing

With the accelerated development of urbanization,,the lagging update of old communities has become an major issue in urban development.The old communities have common features in our country’s small and medium-sized cities such as chaotic transportation systems,lack of community functions and unreasonable spatial layout.There are phenomenons such as "superficial programs" and "excessive flashy" in the process of rebuilding old communities,so it induces uncompleted to meet the needs of residents and also the conflicts between residents and communities have not been resolved.There are three levels in the renovation of old communities:basic renovation,enhancing renovation and upgrading renovation.With the gradual improvement of residents’ living requirements and requirements of community enhancement and transformation,emphasizing renovation and setting design of public service facilities as essential target can assist to achieve the integration of old and modern communities.It is absolutely necessary to research the design of public service facilities in old communities and combining sharing concept together.The paper chooses Xianning city as a typical case of small and medium sized cities.Selecting West Street community as old city design practice objective to do transformation,the paper discusses current situation of domestic and foreign shared communities and design cases of public service facilities(Chapter 1).Through online research and field investigations,we sorted out the current situation of high population density and single structure in the West Street community of Xianning City which has waste of land planning.Public service facilities are not comprehensive and have stronger community cohesion(Chapter 2).Combining the research and analysis in Chapter Two,we make detailed research on the construction path of the shared community and the design of public service facilities and conclude the community design strategy of West Street(Chapter 3).Finally,according to the actual case of the West Street community,it focuses on the transformation of the community center,and discusses the specific design measures(Chapter 4)in the community space such as educational space,cultural and commercial space,and street space.It is hoped that this research can supplement the actual case base of old community reconstruction in small and medium-sized cities,guide other old community reconstruction practices more effectively,and realize the harmonious development of society.
