With the rapid development of China’s economy in recent years, the national standard of living has improved, the demand for civil aviation travel has increased sharply and the flow of flights in various airports is gradually increasing, which has brought great pressure on the safe operation of airports.Due to the long lead time and cost of airport expansion, most airports are optimizing the assignment of scene resources to improve the soft power of the airport so as to reach the purpose of relieving the operational pressure. As the center of all ground activities of aircraft at the airport, gate is one of the important resources for airport operation organization.A reasonable gate assignment can make sure the orderly conduct of all aspects, improve the operational efficiency and relieve the operational pressure of the airport.Firstly, the importance of gate assignment to improve the efficiency of airport operations is analyzed, and the current status of domestic and international research on the issue is summarized from the perspective of the stages of gate assignment and the interested parties involved.According to the relevant regulations in the airport’s operating rules, the complete process for gate assignment is described in terms of specific assignment requirements. Then, different multi-objective optimized gate assignment schemes are proposed separately, taking into account the demand at different stages of gate assignment. In the planning stage,in order to ensure the equilibrium of the interests of multiple parties,a multi-objective optimized gate pre-assignment model based on fairness is established with the minimization of passenger passing distance, aircraft taxiing cost and the number of distant flights as the objective functions. In the actual operation stage,in order to ensure airport operational safety, the multi-objective optimized gate re-assignment model based on minimum disturbance is established with the minimization of aircraft and passenger disturbance distance and the number of adjust flight as the objective function. In addition,a flight priority calculation method is designed according to each flight’s attributes, and flights with higher priority are assigned to gates first. Finally,a pareto multi-objective optimized tabu search algorithm based on pareto optimality is designed for the gate assignment model.Chengdu Shuangliu Airport data is used as an example, and the objective function is used as a comparison index, the model is solved by the improved algorithm and genetic algorithm. The results show that in the pre-assignment stage, compared with the original assignment scheme of the airport, the assignment schemes obtained by both algorithms are optimized in terms of all metrics, but the PMO-TS algorithm approved is more effective in optimization under the unconstrained time constraints. In the re-assignment stage, the assignment scheme is more conducive to shortening the disturbance distance between flights and passengers than the manually adjusted scheme, and reducing the additional safety risk and burden of ground protection department.
