As a boundary As a border river between China and North Korea,the Yalu River serves as a link between China and North Korea.The Yalu River is divided into The Upper,Middle and Lower Rivers.Shangjiang is twenty-four ditches to eight ditches,the middle river flows through the Linjiang River,Zhan’an two places,the lower river is Guangdian,Anton,and Dadonggou.Because of the narrow river,more rocks and reefs are not suitable for navigation,more central rivers and reefs,the lower river because of its geographical location,to Anton as the center,the development of earlier,shipping is more developed.The right bank of the Yalu River and its tributary,the Hun River Basin,are rich in forest resources.During the Guangxu years,a large number of immigrants moved into the Yalu River basin,bringing advanced production technology and excellent crop varieties to the Yalu River basin.The migration of immigrants has reclaimed a large amount of wasteland and exploited rich forest resources.The export of timber and local products promotes the development of the Yalu River shipping,the development of the shipping industry promotes the development of commerce and the formation of coastal towns,so that the economy along the Yalu River is developed,the urban belt can be formed and developed,and the development of the Yalu River shipping improves the transportation network of land and water transportation.This paper takes the Yalu River basin as the research area,and focuses on the development of modern Yalu River shipping.During the Guangxu period,a large number of immigrants moved in,bringing advanced agricultural production technology and sufficient labor force,timber mining and export to promote the development of the Yalu River shipping.In 1907,Anton officially opened trade,yalu River shipping development flourish,the expansion of routes,the formation of land and water transport network,the formation of shipping scale.In the early period of pseudo-full,because the Japanese forces actively intervened in the Yalu River shipping and related undertakings,and stepped up the plundering of resources in the Northeast,Yalu River shipping showed a sustainable development trend.After 1939,the Yalu River shipping momentum was frustrated by the pseudo-full government’s policy of buying and selling grain,the prohibition of private trafficking in grain and the establishment of hydro-rich hydroelectric power stations.Based on the archives and literature,this article closely narrates the development history of shipping on the Yalu River,and summarizes and generalizes its shipping characteristics and evaluation.The first part is a description of the natural environment and social and historical conditions of the Yalu River in modern times.The second part mainly narrates the development process of modern Yalu River shipping.The first is the rise of the Yalu River shipping(1890—1907),its prosperity(1907—1931),its continuous development(1932—1938),and the subsequent setback of its development momentum(1939—1945).This part of the content is also the focus of this article.The third part describes the characteristics and evaluation of modern Yalu River shipping.Modern shipping on the Yalu River showed a continuous development trend;it promoted the development of coastal resources;it promoted the commercial development of the Yalu River basin and the formation of urban belts;Japanese forces participated in shipping and related undertakings;and Promoted the economic development of the Yalu River Basin.
