As the main body of China’s energy structure, coal accounts for more than 60%of energy consumption.Due to China’s energy structure of "rich coal, poor oil and little gas",China will still be highly dependent on coal resources in the future. At present,China’s thermal power generation is still the dominant position in China’s power generation structure.Although the proportion of thermal power is shrinking year by year, the demand for thermal coal is still stable in recent years.Because our country coal resource distribution presented "more east west, north south poor rich"structure of the distribution of resources and active thermal coal demand of China’s mainly in the southeast coastal developed areas, such as production, consumption of coal resources in reverse distribution structure, therefore, coal transportation to our country economic development and social stability plays a vital role.Along with our country in the world economic circulation system, the change of the role and status, influenced by policy, the centralized coal base, supporting lines constantly improve, improve railway, port capacity, and in 2016 the implementation of the "revolution of iron" policy, our country coal comprehensive transportation system in revolution ushered in a new development pattern. In recent years, coal prices remain high, the power market reform and adjustment of electricity prices, thermal power enterprises have sustained losses in power generation business, reducing the cost of coal has become an urgent problem to be solved. To sum up,this paper, under the current coal logistics pattern planned by the government of China, combined with the previous changing trend, predicts the future development of China’s thermal coal transportation, and carries out a research on China’s thermal coal multimodal transport based on the theoretical and methodological problems that need to be studied and solved in the current thermal coal transportation.Firstly, this paper introduces the related theories of coal transportation, including the transport characteristics and modes of coal, and the related theories of multimodal transportation, including the transportation components and models of multimodal transportation and the advantages of multimodal transportation.Secondly this paper introduces the present situation of coal transportation in our country, including the current coal supply and demand relations, geographical distribution and yield of coal, coal, railway, waterway transport organization facilities, coal is analyzed the present situation and necessity of multimodal transport,on this basis, from the coal supplies, coal transportation organization present situation and the molten iron transport three aspects analyzing the present situation and problems of coal multimodal transport in our country, this paper expounds the problems existing in the multimodal transport. It is pointed out that it has problems in four aspects:structure, transportation capacity, cost and safety.Based on the traditional path optimization theory and combining with the characteristics of thermal coal multimodal transport,a path optimization model for thermal coal multimodal transport is established. In this model, transport cost, time penalty cost, transport cost and carbon emission cost are taken as the objective function, and flow balance and capacity limit are taken as the constraint conditions. Then, the genetic algorithm and Wolf pack algorithm are designed to solve the path optimization model. Finally, genetic algorithm and Wolf pack algorithm were used to optimize the solution, and the transportation route and transportation scheme with the lowest overall cost were obtained to achieve the balance of production and demand.
