With the development of economy, the automotive industry has gradually become mature from the emerging industry, and the capacity is gradually saturated. As a result, every Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM)has improved its performance in aspects of comfort, energy conservation, emission reduction and appearance to meet different market demands. The increasingly tight market competition has put forward strict requirements for auto parts manufacturers. In order to meet the market demand, auto parts manufacturers must not only upgrade their products, but also make continuous improvement from the production process and even the whole supply chain,so as to improve their comprehensive competitiveness.Continuous improvement is not only the requirement of the market, but also the driving force and support for the continuous development of an enterprise. In this contest, lean production came into being. As a production management system that pursues the rationality and efficiency of production and operation,it can produce products that meet the diversified demands of the market with high quality and flexibility. The fierce market competition promotes the emergence of lean production. There is an effective tool in lean production management--Value Stream Map(VSM).with VSM,we can identify and eliminate waste quickly. This paper is to study the goods inbound and outbound processes optimization with VSM in finished goods warehouse of Schaeffler(China)co.,Ltd.The VSM can clearly show the Process KPI and corresponding problems existed in current state, and it can support to describe target state for future process, namely future Value Stream. This paper provided the improvement solution for the inbound and outbound processes of Schaeffler’s finished goods warehouse.By adjusting the process cycle time and changing the warehouse layout, the overall throughput time of the inbound and outbound process was reduced and the time waste of non-value-added activities was eliminated.By using process bottleneck analysis, fishbone diagram and other methods, the process was analyzed step by step to balance and control the bottlenecks and reduce waste in inbound and outbound processes. Thus,it supported to improve the efficiency and reduce the occupation of resources, and increasing the economic benefits of enterprises, promoting the sustainable development of enterprises at the same time.
