Research On Influencing Factors Of Export Sophistication Of Chinese Electromechanical Industry

The trend of economic globalization makes the world economy form an organic whole of interdependence.Economic and trade exchanges between countries are more frequent,and the trade structure is changing with time.The research focus of experts and scholars is gradually inclined to the quality of export products and the technical content of trade products.Among them,the share of mechanical and electrical products is still huge,no matter in China or the global trade.And it plays an important role in Chinese trade structure.It is of far-reaching significance to study the export sophistication of mechanical and electrical industry for the optimization of Chinese trade structure and the high-quality development of foreign trade.Based on the era of advocating green economic development,this thesis studies and analyzes the influencing factors of the export sophistication of Chinese mechanical and electrical industry,and innovatively adds the carbon productivity as an explanatory variable to investigate its impact on the export sophistication.In this thesis,according to the differences of the source between the influencing factors,they are classified as foreign influencing factors and domestic influencing factors.Among them,foreign factors are mainly FDI and import trade,while domestic factors are carbon productivity,labor capital endowment,human capital and technological innovation ability.Secondly,the export technical sophistication PRODY and the export sophistication EXPY index of Chinese mechanical and electrical industry are calculated,and then the export sophistication level of mechanical and electrical industry is carefully examined from the product,industry and country levels.And through the establishment of dynamic panel data model,using the difference GMM method,this thesis empirically analyzes the influencing factors of the export sophistication of Chinese mechanical and electrical industry in different periods.The empirical results show that carbon productivity,FDI,import trade,capital labor endowment and human capital all affect the export sophistication of mechanical and electrical industry.In 2000-2008,foreign influencing factors had an inhibitory effect in the export sophistication of mechanical and electrical industry,and only after 2009 began to play a positive role.However,the technological innovation among the domestic influencing factors is not significant in any period,which shows that the investment intechnological innovation in China has not yet played a role and needs to continue increasing investment,while capital labor endowment is significant after 2008.The above shows that the two influencing factors,capital labor endowment and technological innovation,have time lag effect and need time to accumulate to show their influence.Carbon productivity has a significant positive effect in the export sophistication of Chinese mechanical and electrical industry,which indicates that the upgrading of environmental factors will have a positive impact on the export sophistication.Both foreign and domestic factors need to accumulate for a long time to promote the export quality of mechanical and electrical products.Through the results of mechanism analysis and empirical test,China can improve the export sophistication of mechanical and electrical industry to enhance international competitiveness by upgrading the role of carbon productivity industry,improving the quality of foreign capital introduction,cultivating the ability of independent innovation and increasing capital investment.
