Research On The Design Of Reading Space In Public Library Based On Interactive Concept

Reading is one of the main ways for individuals to acquire knowledge.The development of social economy and the improvement of scientific and technological have further enriched the reading style and the need of residents.Public library,as a social foundation building serving the public,is the main building platform to ensure residents’ reading behavior,the quantity of its existence and the perfection of its infrastructure are all important factors that affect people’s participation in reading.Public libraries should not pay attention to the quantity and quality of collections only,but also pay attention to the design of reading space.A wonderful reading space atmosphere is the catalyst for the healthy development of public libraries,and it’s the inner appeal of readers as well.In the context of The National Reading,China attaches great importance to the development of public libraries,and strengthens construction and financial input.According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,the number of public libraries in the country has been increasing year by year since 2012,but on average,the service radius of different cities is low.At present,although the function of reading space in public library can basically meet the habits and needs of residents in the process of use,there are still a lot of problems such as improper division of space area,lack of furniture and equipment quantity,unreasonable lighting setting and ill-suited utilization of natural light,which have a negative impact on the residents’ reading mood.In the research of the design of the reading space of public library,this paper expounds the relevant concepts of the reading space of public library.Taking the concept of interaction as the starting point of the research,taking people and things as the subject and object of interaction in the reading process,analyzing the interaction behavior of the subject and the object in the process of reading,and digging deep into the various needs of people in the process of reading.Based on the above theoretical analysis,this paper designs a questionnaire about residents’ needs for reading space,statistics and analysis on the results of the questionnaire,and selects representative public libraries in China and South Korea to conduct field work and comparative studies.Through the research and induction,the paper demonstrates the importance of interactive design in the reading space,summarizes the basis of the interactive design of the public libraryreading space and the elements of the interactive design,puts forward the suggestion of the interactive design of the reading space,and then forms a constructive design proposal.
