Foamed concrete is one of the most cementitious materials used in civil construction and building, because of its high fluidity and settlement, low self-weight and low thermal conductivity. However,it has some major setbacks such as low strength and increased shrinkage at later ages This work aims to study the potential production of foamed concrete as a sustainable structural material using two different water soluble cellulose namely Hydroxy propyl methylcellulose(HPMC)and Poly anionic cellulose(PAC)is recently developed a recently cellulose with varying percentage by mass. For this purpose,32 sample cubes were prepared 16 each samples of each cellulose and cured according to the standards condition to find out the compressive strength at different ages.An equal percentage by mass of Hydroxy propyl methylcellulose(HPMC)and Poly anionic cellulose(PAC)0.03 g,0.06 g,0.09 g,0.12 g and 0.15 gm were used respectively to prepared two different types of samples.A series of tests on the fluidity of the foamed concrete and water penetration of foam were performed.Densities, surface tensions and weighing cup tests were performed on each specimen accordingly. In the light of the above all mentioned tests a comprehensive comparison was done between Hydroxy propyl methylcellulose(HPMC)and Poly anionic cellulose(PAC)based on experiments and observations it has concluded that Poly anionic cellulose(PAC)has a good performance to use as foamed concrete structural material as compared to Hydroxy propyl methylcellulose(HPMC).Also, the results shows that the samples cured by moisture have the highest compressive strength at initial ages.1.The Surface tension of the average of 15 samples of PAC cellulose on the Foam the weight is 0.03 g,0.06 g,0.09 g,0.12 g,0.15 g and the result was(66.26,62.76,68.55,64.6,68.47)dyne/cm,as well as Surface Tension results of HPMC on(0.03,0.06,0.09,0.12,0.15)g was(66.23,66.55,66.25,50.04,69.25)dyne/cm.The Average result of PAC is 23.82% higher than HPMC.2.The densities of the average 15 samples of Foam of PAC cellulose on weight of 0.03 g,0.06 g,0.09 g,0.12 g,0.15 g and the results is(0.976,1.029,1.083,1.005,1.008)g/cubic cm.Better than HPMC results, the results of the average of 15 samples of HPMC was(0.997,0.988,0.999,0.998,0.999)g/cubic cm.The Average result of PAC is 6.86% greater than HPMC.3.The Expansion Ratio of Weighing cup Quality of Foam Concrete the expansion ratio of 15 samples of HPMC at(0.03,0.06,0.09,0.12,0.15)g and result was(0.019,0.020,0.021,0.022,0.024)% and.the Expansion ratio of PAC on the same weight 15 samples of PAC was(0.013,0.020,0.022,0.024 and 0.025)%.The average result of HPMC 15.094% higher than PAC.4.Water Penetration Test of both Foams HPMC and PAC cellulose secrets water and got different results on the weight of(0.03,0.06,0.09,0.12,0.15)g consecutively HPMC Bleeds water(2ml,2ml,3ml,3ml,3ml)at 30 minutes, and PAC bleeds water(4ml,4ml,4ml,4ml,3ml)at 30 minutes. The penetration of PAC average result of water bleed at 30 minutes is 31.57% higher than HPMC.5.The Result of Fluidity Test Of Foam Concrete with the help of an acrylic plate(400mm×400mm)and stainless steel cup(1L),Vernier caliper and Stopwatch. The expansion ratio of 15 samples of HPMC at(0.03,0.06,0.09,0.12,0.15)g and result was(7.5,8.0,7.5,8.5,8)sq.cm and the Expansion ratio of PAC on the same weight 15 samples of PAC was(7,8,8,7.5,7)sq.cm.The average result of HPMC after every 30 seconds is 15.09% is higher than PAC.6.The compressive strength of Foamed concrete of both cellulose HPMC and PAC is divided into two results after 7days,and 28 days curing,15 samples of each cellulose on the weight of(0.03,0.06,0.09,0.12,0.15)g.The average results of HPMC samples after 7 days curing are(0.9,0.9,1.0,0.7,0.3)MPa.The average result of PAC after 7 days curing on the same weight of 15 samples was(0.9,1.2,1.4,1.8,1.5)MPa.The significant average results of HPMC samples after 28 days curing are(1.0,1.0,0.9,0.7,0.4)MPa.The average result of PAC after 28 days curing are(0.7,1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0)MPa difference at 28 days between HPMC and PAC the average results of PAC is 44.11% higher than HPMC on 7 days.PAC is 14.89% higher than HPMC after 28 days. The finding presented in this thesis is the first time being presented and has not being seen in public literature. The significance of the finding is to demonstrate that PAC test has superior performance in contributing the Engineering properties foamed concrete.
