| Pop-up store is a kind of temporary retailing space located at public street or supermarket,and it will be closed in few days to a month.Recently,being regarded as an efficient retailing method,it has been adopted by numerous enterprises.From an academic perspective,pop-up store is a complex product-service system involving different stakeholders,which would increase difficulties of store design.However,most relevant researches in the field of pop-up store focus on characteristics of pop-up store,consumers’ psychology and experience.Study on practical methodology of store design is relatively rare.Basing on the situation,how to balance benefits of different stakeholders and complete a good pop-up store is a topic worth studying.Apparently,systematical methodologies need to be introduced in the field of pop-up store design,and it is the reason why Product-service System theory is adopted in this study.PSS theory has been applied in many commercial realms in several decades after it was put forward.In this research,PSS theory will be applied in the field of pop-up store,to contribute on a completed pop-up Product-service system.This research based on the PSS design process presented by Yong Se Kim professor.Firstly,background of pop-up store was sorted out systematically by literature review,and an appropriate PSS design process was selected in the field of PSS theory.Secondly,requirements of consumer,service provider and brand were identified after Questionnaire Survey and In-depth Interview.Combining Yong Se Kim’s PSS methodology,a new design process including 4 steps(Requirement Identification and Value Targeting,Stakeholder Activity Design,Function-Activity Mapping and PSS Concept Generation)was form for pop-up store design.Thirdly,PSS Concept was decomposed into several modules including product and service elements.Finally,the product and service elements were recombined for PSS design process of pop-up store.The following results were output after research:(1)study on requirements of consumer,service provider and brand can provide reference for follow-up or other researchers;(2)PSS design process of pop-up store can be guideline for designers;(3)guided by the theory of new PSS design process,XCOMMONS JIUHAO STORE in June and XCOMMONS JIUHAO FORO in October were completed to test its applicability. |
