The Research On The Reuse Of The Space Of The Jinan Viaduct In The Exhibition Construction

With the development of Chinese economy,the number of private vehicles grows rapidly,which result in the improvement of traffic systems.Although the urban overhead meets the cities’ need,it breaks the weak balance of urban forms,significantly affecting the original urban context.Because the urban ecosystem is intervened by a viaduct,the lower part of the viaducts was created,becoming a new cities’ space form.With the building of viaducts,the considerable spaces were created in many countries,especially in current China.In China,the plane of building viaducts are proposed by the government every year,as the consequence,the special spaces have appeared with an unbelievable speed.Fortunately,people have paid more attention to these spaces.Due to the huge potential of these special spaces which have suitable construction and dimension,the purpose of this thesis is how to transform the lower part of the viaduct to exhibition or gallery.This paper takes the design of the space exhibition under the viaduct in Jinan City as the research theme.Firstly,through the relevant report and design program,especially the relevant case,I can learn some relative design experience,summing up the design method.Secondly,based on the traffic condition of Jinan,I had investigated the situation of the viaduct in Jinan City.Then I had Summarized the overall utilization and current situation within the scope of the research.According to the distribution of the existing large and medium-sized galleries and museums in Jinan City,I had confirmed the radiation range,looking for the blind areas of Jinan exhibitions’ impact range and deciding the appropriate design location.Then,combined with the current situation and problems of the space in the lower part of the viaduct in Jinan City,I studied the relevant design principles and techniques,summarizing the design ideas for the exhibition space of Jinan City,extracting the new design thinking,reshaping the new form of the space under the urban overhead,and trying to contact the urban context torn by the city’s traffic system.Finally,combined with the theoretical content of the previous research,I had presented a conceptual design.
