| With the advancement of urbanization of China,population growth of cities in the middle to high intensity areas is inescapable.For those multi-story buildings can’t use the structural system of coupled shear wall because of building functions,it’s difficult to meet the anti-seismic requirements to use the traditional structure of single shear wall.But for those buildings using the structural system of coupled shear wall,the span of coupling beam,or called by hole-opening width,is usually decided by the non-structural factors of building function and equipment function.To addition,the construction and design method of coupling beam in coupled shear wall structure is complex,witch causes wasting of time and money.Thus,a new structural system,named Double Side-column Hybrid Coupled Wall,combined mechanical character of “double seismic line” of hybrid coupled wall and the advantage of easy designing and easy constructing of single shear wall is proposed.The coupling beam which is allowed to control its degree of coupling by changing the span of beam is introduced in the new structural system to reduce the damage of wall.Therefore,it makes huge sense studying the design method and seismic performance of the new structural system.In this paper,the code of JGJ138,AISC 341,GB50011 etc.were referred and the ductile design method proposed by Zona was based,and a 1/4 test specimen owned 40%coupling ratio was designed and produced.Then,the low key reciprocating loading test was performed and the hysteresis curve,the skeleton curve,the deformation ability,the energy dissipation ability,the story drift ratio,the shear deformation of coupling beam,and the steel strain were carried out to study the seismic performance,the mechanical character and the fail mechanism of test specimen.The test results indicated that a reasonable design can achieve the results that the coupling beam yielded prior to the wall pier.It was observed that the specimen performed a good hysteresis performance in the low key reciprocating loading test.When the specimen failed,the wall indicated a fail mode of bending,both side concrete in the bottom of shear wall was crushed and the longitudinal reinforcements and the embedded steel column were both buckled.Though the enough shear deformation of steel coupling beam was seen,the value of plastic angle doesn’t reach the uplimit of the link beam of eccentrically braced frame.The lateral drift ratio of top floor surpass the limit of 1/100 in code for seismic design of buildings.But the vertical cracks in the position of embedded steel column was formed on the surface of concrete,resulting in decreasing of carrying capcity of specimen. |
