Automobile industry has played an important role on Chinese modernization and national economic growth.As an important department of national economic development,the development of automobile industry has profound impact on manufacturing,industry,and even on the entire national economy.However,with more opening up of Chinese market,the more intense the market competition is.So,it is urgent for the automobile companies to reduce the cost of production and operation through management level constantly improving,and enhance competitiveness.Starting from the stock of engine,which is the “heart” of vehicle,with the guidance of lean management,the paper makes an optimization research on reduce inventory days of engine finish goods.First summary related basic theory about lean management and inventory management based on study of previous literature.Then take a company as an example,briefly introduced the status of the company engine finish goods.Combine with lean six sigma DMAIC model,using lean management idea and tool,such as brainstorming method,fish bone spur figure,analyze the key factors affecting the engine finish goods inventory,also discussing the industry representative factors one by one.Conduct inventory optimization research from the management,production process,aspects of customer requirements,quality,and production planning.Focus on qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the influence between X and Y.Finally realize the optimization of engine finish goods inventory days.The combination of lean six sigma and inventory optimization has general reference for enterprise on inventory optimization.
