| The medicinal plants of Hedychium genus mainly grows in the southwest region of China,and their roots are rich in a large number of terpenoids,especially labdane diterpenoids with good cytotoxicity.To discover more bioactive labdane diterpenoids,the methanol extract of the rhizomes of H.coronarium and H.yunnanense collected from Xishuangbanna,Yunnan were studied.By silica gel column chromatography,Sephadex LH-20 chromatography,and high performance liquid chromatography,62 compounds,including 15 new ones,were isolated and their structures were identified by spectroscopic means.Most of the isolated compounds were labdane diterpenoids,including furan-labdane,lactone-labdane,amide-labdane,oplopanone sesquiterpenoids,along with monoterpenes,diaryl heptanoids,flavonoids,steroids and simple aromatics.From H.coronarium,35 compounds were elucidated as hedycoronarin A-I(1-9),yunnancoronarin E(10),hedychenone(11),7-hydroxyl-hedychenone(12),hedychilactone(13),hedychenoid B(14),yunnancoronarin B(15),16-hydroxylabda-8(17),11,13-trien-15(16)-olide(16),hedyforrestin B(17),hedychilactones A(18),hedyforrestin C(19),6-oxo-labda-7,11,-13-triene-16-oic lactone(20),coronadiene(21),15,16-bisnorlabda-7,11-diene-6,13-dione(22),hedychin C(23),hedyunchene A(24),gingerenone A(25),hexahydrocurcumin(26),rel-(3R,5S)-3,5-dihydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-7-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-hep tane(27),3,5,7,4′-tetramethoxyflavone(28),5-hydroxy-3,7,4′-trimethoxyflavone(29),(E)-p-coumaric acid(30),vanillin(31),(24R)-6β-hydroxy-24-ethylcholest-4-en-3-one(32),stigmasteral(33),5α-stigmastane-3,6-dione(34),and β-sitosterol(35)respectively.Compounds 1-9 are new labdane diterpenoids.Hedycoronarin F(6)was a novel 8,12-epoxy-labdane and hedycoronarins G-I(7-9)were amide-labdanes isolated from plants of Hedychium genus for the first time.Compounds 10,13-17,19,22-23,25-27,30-32 and 34 were isolated from the H.coronarium for the first time.From H.yunnanense,27 compounds were isolated and elucidated as hedyyunnanin A-F(1′-6′),hedycoronarin B(7′),hedycoronarin D(8′),yunnancoronarin B(9′),6-oxo-labda-7,11,13-triene-16-oic lactone(10′),15,16-bisnorlabda-7,11-diene-6,13-dione(11′),coronarin A(12′),hedychenone(13′),yunnancoronarin D(14′),hedycoronarin C(15′),hedychenoid B(16′),yunnancoronarin E(17′),hedyforrestin B(18′),hedychiumin(19′),yunnancoronarin A(20′),16-hydroxylabda-8(17),11,13-trien-15(16)-olide(21′),hedychin C(22′),diaporols R(23′),5β-hydroxy-8,9-dihydrocarvone(24′),2′,6′-dihydroxy-4′-methoxychalcone(25′),(4R,6R)-6-hydroxypiperitone(26′),(4R,6S)-6-hydroxypiperitone(27′),Compounds 1′-3′were new labdane diterpenoids,and compounds 5′and 6′were new drimane sesquiterpenoids.Compounds 7′-9′,11′,15′,17′-19′,and 23′-27′were obtained from the H.yunnanense originally.Hedychenone(11)rich in H.coronarium and H.yunnanense was tested for its inhibitory activity against Phytophthora infestans 88069,and the result showed that it possessed no activity.The cytotoxicity of some compounds are still in progress. |
