| Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China has actively expanded its opening to the outside world, actively attracted and utilized foreign direct investment, and included the basic formation of a new open economic system at a higher level in the party’s14th five year plan as the main goal of economic and social development.China’s economy has developed rapidly in the environment of economic globalization. At the same time,***Make carbon dioxide emissions reach the peak before 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutralization before 2060.Carbon peaking and carbon neutralization have become hot issues in China’s energy conservation and emission reduction tasks. They are not only China’s national plan, but also an important strategy for the overall layout of China’s ecological civilization construction, but also a major measure to build a community with a shared future for mankind.China is at a time when new and old drivers are changing. On the one hand,in the 14 th five year plan,it is planned that China will basically form a new high-level open economic system in 2025,and the government work report also proposes to actively and effectively use foreign capital. As the largest developing country in the world,China still needs to actively and actively use foreign direct investment. On the other hand,China plans to reach the carbon peak in 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutralization by 2060,and the problems of transfer carbon emission and pollution paradise caused by the introduction of foreign direct investment are also urgent to be solved. Therefore, from the perspective of economics, carbon productivity,as a productivity index that can combine energy consumption and output, can be used in energy conservation, emission reduction, carbon reduction Under the background of the increasingly prominent problem of reducing energy consumption, the research on the impact of foreign direct investment on environmental problems is transferred to the research on the impact on carbon productivity, that is,by studying the impact mechanism of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity and empirically explaining whether foreign direct investment has a direct impact on China’s carbon productivity. At the same time,There are few literatures on the impact of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity in China. This paper hopes to further contribute to the research in this regard. This paper mainly studies the impact of China’s foreign direct investment on carbon productivity from two aspects. On the one hand, through combing and summarizing the relevant literature at home and abroad, this paper is based on the relevant classical theories of international investment, economic growth and environmental pollution, including pollution paradise hypothesis and pollution halo,Porter hypothesis, bottom race hypothesis, etc,At the same time,it summarizes the index decomposition method of carbon productivity, summarizes the action mechanism of the impact on carbon productivity, and further summarizes the impact mechanism of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity. On the other hand, based on the analysis of relevant theoretical mechanisms and models, referring to the current situation and development trend of China’s carbon productivity and the current situation and development stage of China’s foreign direct investment, this paper quantitatively investigates the objective impact of foreign direct investment on China’s carbon production rate with the help of panel data and fixed effect model,At the same time,it is divided into three regions to study the impact of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity. The research results of this paper are mainly reflected in the following aspects:In order to investigate what mechanism foreign direct investment affects carbon productivity, this paper combs various studies on the impact mechanism of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity at home and abroad, and summarizes that foreign direct investment can affect carbon productivity through technology effect, structure effect, environmental effect, scale effect and internal mechanism,Taking each region of 2000-2020 as the research object, with the help of panel data and fixed effect model, this paper makes a more comprehensive and scientific empirical study on the impact of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity.According to the data of each province from 2000 to2020,it is empirically concluded that foreign direct investment has a significant positive impact on carbon productivity. At the same time, when other factors are controlled unchanged, the level of economic development, technological innovation and industrial structure have a significant positive impact on carbon productivity, while the intensity of environmental regulation, urbanization level and energy intensity have a significant negative impact on carbon productivity. At the same time, the empirical results show that the impact of foreign direct investment on carbon productivity is significant in the western and eastern regions, but not in the central region. Finally, based on the theoretical analysis and empirical conclusions, this paper puts forward targeted suggestions. |
