The sudden outbreak and rapid spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia(Corona Virus Disease 2019,COVID-19)in China has brought great impact and challenges to all aspects of society. As the mainstream of modern urban transportation, the subway is a key link in the process of epidemic prevention and control and subsequent resumption of work and production. As the front-line employees of the subway, they still need to adhere to the first line of crowd contact to ensure safe and convenient necessary travel for the public, speeding up the retrograde line when the city presses the pause button, guaranteeing the normal operation of the line network and the travel safety of every passenger.Under great pressure, they face greater physical health and mental health risks. In this study, some employees who were still on duty during the epidemic in Chengdu Metro Co.,Ltd.were selected as research subjects, collecting and exploring their stress status and its influencing factors by using questionnaires, analyzing the overall stress status of the employees and investigating the influence of personality traits, psychological resilience and emotion regulation strategies on the stress status of the employees by using relevant statistical methods in combination with the theories of stress. The main studies are as follows:(1)The overall stress situation of metro employees is good, and there are 227 metro employees with a good stress situation,i.e.,a score equal to 0,accounting for about 14% of the total. The average score of the stress questionnaire is about 15,and about 51% of the surveyed employees have an overall score less than 10.By assessing the criteria of acute stress disorder,99% of the employees have no obvious symptoms of acute stress disorder and are in a relatively healthy. In all,the overall stress status is good. However, the overall stress status is good,it still needs to maintain attention;(2)The regional independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the variance of employees’ stress status among demographic variables. It was found that different genders, working hours, marital status, educational level and positions have significant differences in stress status of subway employees;(3)The Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between the stress status of employees and their influencing factors. It was found that employees with stronger rigorousness, stronger openness to experience or lower neuroticism had better stress status. The more psychological resilience employees are,the better their stress status is.Employees with higher cognitive reappraisal ability or lower expressive suppression had better stress status. The results showed that rigorousness, openness to experience, psychological resilience and cognitive reappraisal had positive effects on stress status, while neuroticism and expressive suppression had negative effects on stress status;(4)The hierarchical regression analysis and structure equation model were used to investigate the mechanisms of the influencing factors on the stress status of subway employees,i.e.,the predictability of personality traits, psychological resilience and emotion regulation strategies on the stress status of subway employees.Neuroticism, agreeableness, extroversion, emotion regulation strategies(cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression)and psychological resilience of frontline subway employees were predictive of their stress status. The results of this study can suggest more intervention options for the bad stress status of subway employees under the epidemic, furthermore,it can also provide a theoretical basis for higher requirements in employee selection, which will ultimately help to further improve the safety of subway system operation.
