Abstract/Summary:
Industrial agglomeration is mainly formed by small and medium-sized enterprises gathering in a certain region with the purpose of enhancing the comprehensive economic strength and competitiveness of each enterprise in the region. At this time, the market constructs the regional competitive advantage through the competition of upstream and downstream industries, and makes the regional economic development by the industrial agglomeration.Industrial agglomeration also brings a lot of environmental problems, and these environmental problems have a certain regional difference, different regions encounter different environmental pollution problems. At present, there is no consistent conclusion about whether the development of industrial agglomeration intensifies or restrains environmental pollution.Due to the significant regional differences in China, the level and structure of industrial agglomeration in different regions have their own characteristics. So this paper first sorts out the relevant literature review, and sorts out the relevant views and conclusions on agglomeration and pollution. Then makes a theoretical analysis of the influencing factors of environmental pollution, combs the influencing mechanism of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution, and puts forward corresponding hypotheses. Finally, through the construction of Dubin model and intermediary effect model for empirical research, the spatial effect of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution and the intermediary effect of environmental tax on environmental pollution were verified and proved, and finally put forward relevant policy suggestions. This paper draws the following conclusions from the result: Through the empirical results of spatial Dubin model,it is found that the coefficient of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution level is significantly positive, quadratic term coefficient significantly negative, said industrial agglomeration and the environment pollution is not a simple linear relationship between the specific performance is an inverted "U" type of environmental kuznets curve, the relationship between spatial lag coefficient significantly negative at the same time,The results show that the industrial agglomeration in surrounding areas has significant spatial spillover effect on pollution in this region. The 30 provinces were divided into four regions, namely the central, eastern, western and northeastern regions, and the relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution in different regions is inconsistent, showing regional heterogeneity. At the same time,it is found that industrial agglomeration has spatial spillover effect on environmental pollution through the intermediary variable of scale economy, technological progress and rationalization of industrial structure. Finally, this paper puts four following policy suggestions: first, develop regional characteristics and encourage cluster development;Second, optimize the industrial structure and raise the awareness of environmental protection;Third, strengthen innovation and achieve green production;Fourth, improve green taxation to lead green development;Fifth, strengthen environmental regulation and build a governance system.
