In recent years, taking into account resource consumption and environmental pollution,China has vigorously promoted the building of an ecological civilization. The Green total factor productivity Index(GTFP)can effectively reflect the quality of green economic development attracting the attention of many scholars. As the capital of social progress for the development of the national economy, transport infrastructure undoubtedly plays a critical role in promoting economic growth. However, given the energy and environmental constraints, further research is necessary that is related to the impact of transport infrastructure on the growth of green economy. In the dissertation, the study of the impact of transport infrastructure on GTFP is of great importance for both the development direction of transportation infrastructure and the growth of green economy. This thesis first explains the related theories.Based on the above research, the mechanism of action between transportation and GTFP is explained. This thesis further analyzes the development of transport infrastructure and green economy. In general, the construction of China’s transport infrastructure has produced remarkable results, and its scale continues to grow. However, from a regional point of view, the development of transport infrastructure in three main regions is unbalanced. In terms of the three dimensions of the green economy, the momentum for economic growth is generally strong, but energy consumption and environmental pollution need to be strengthened. In general, both the level of economic development and energy consumption show distribution characteristics of “high in the east and low in the west”.Then, through the combination of Malmquist-Luenberger index and SBM-DDF model, the GTFP of the Chinese provinces is dynamically measured from 2007 to 2018.The results show that GTFP is increasing, which is mainly due to the rise in technological advances. In addition,in terms of spatial distribution, the results show a“high in the east and low in the west” trend. And difference in growth of GTFP and technological progress between provinces shows no trend of narrowing. Finally,a panel regression model is created to empirically analyze the impact of transport infrastructure on GTFP.Comparative analysis of measurement results for the whole country and three main regions, including East,Center and West. The results show that there is a non-linear relationship between road and green total factor productivity across the country, showing a U-shape.And the same is true of railway. In the eastern region, both the railway and road have a negative impact on green TFP.In the central region, the highway held back green TFP growth, while the impact of the railway on the GTFP evolves in a "U" shaped curve. In the western region, similarly, while the impact of the railway on the GTFP evolves in a “U”shaped curve.Railway has a significant positive impact on the green TFP.Based on the above findings, appropriate policy recommendations is put forward.
