The genus Euphorbia is rich in plant resources, diverse in species, and widely distributed in China. It has attracted the attention of phytochemists for its diverse structure and bioactivities of diterpenoids.Euphorbia fischeriana Steud,a perennial herb,is poisonous. Its roots are more toxic, and filled with milk. Its dry roots, named "Lymphoma",are traditionally used to treat edema, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, chronic trachea, inflammation, cough, asthma, various tuberculosis, hemorrhoids and fistulas in China. It is reported that its main active ingredient, diterpene, have anti-tumor,anti-bacterial,anti-viral,anti-leukemia,anti-HIV-1,anti-inflammatory activities and promote nerve growth factor growth activity. So far, there has no report on the chemical constituents of Euphorbia fischeriana from Shangri-La,Yunnan Province,China. This thesis reported 72 compounds isolated from Euphorbia fischeriana,of which 10 are new ones. This thesis covers two chapters:The first chapter summarized the monomer compounds isolated from Euphorbia fischeriana Steud and their biological activities in the past decade.Their structures mainly included diterpene, triterpene, steroid, tannin, phenolic acid, acetophenone, anthraquinone, etc.Among them, some compounds showed biological activities such as anti-cancer,anti-tumor,antimicrobial,anti-virus,anti-leukemia,anti-HIV-1,anti-inflammatory,ecological protection, etc. In the second chapter, the chemical constituents of the ethyl acetate and petroleum ether extracts from the aboveground part of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud were reported.72 compounds including triterpenes, diterpenes, steroids, flavonoids, amides, tannins and aliphatic chains were isolated by various separation techniques covering RP-18,Sephadex LH-20 gel column and semi-preparative HPLC.Their structures were determined by means of extensive spectroscopic analysis including1 D and 2D NMR and HRESIMS.Among them, compounds 1-11,13,14,16-43,46-60,62,and 69-72 were isolated from this plant for the first time, and the amides(62 and 71)were firstly reported from Euphorbia fischeriana.
