Abstract/Summary:
Ecological environment and food security are the key concerns of human beings.Food is produced from arable land and human life has an important dependence on it.However,as environmental problems are seriously highlighted, they are beginning to be traced back to their source, and research focuses on arable land resources. In the context of global advocacy of greening, the green development of agriculture is gaining momentum,so it is especially important to talk about the green utilization of arable land. And Xinjiang as a large agricultural province in China, agriculture as an important pillar of Xinjiang’s economy, although factors are constantly invested to bring about its agricultural economic development, but in bringing obvious agricultural dividends at the same time,it has also caused certain negative impact on the environment. How to reduce the overuse of agricultural drugs and fertilizers as well as the degree of white pollution, etc, and improve the green efficiency of arable land utilization to ensure food security and crop quality is an urgent issue and problem to be solved in Xinjiang. At present, although there are no unified standards and requirements on how to green the use of arable land and green inputs,it is important to explore how to achieve green use of arable land in a scientific and reasonable way to improve the green efficiency of arable land use and promote sustainable agricultural development. Therefore, this paper selects the green efficiency of arable land use as the research object, according to the division of 14 regions in Xinjiang: South,North and East Xinjiang as the research areas, and 2003-2018 as the research years, starting from both time and space,in terms of time series, the green efficiency of arable land use in Xinjiang is measured and analyzed in terms of trend changes by region, while its adjustment space is analyzed afterwards, and after that, the green efficiency of arable land use is measured Finally,a geographically weighted regression model was selected to explore the degree of influence of influencing factors on the green efficiency of cropland use in 14 regions of Xinjiang and to make suggestions for improving the green efficiency of cropland use in Xinjiang. The main findings of the study are summarized as follows.(1)Regarding the measurement of green efficiency of arable land use in Xinjiang, the average value of efficiency is above 0.8,showing a medium-high efficiency level overall;there are obvious differences in green efficiency of arable land use among regions in Xinjiang due to their resource advantages and different planting structures, firstly, the high efficiency level of green efficiency of arable land use is achieved in Karamay,Turpan and Bazhou regions, followed by the medium-high efficiency level in Yili,Tacheng,Bozhou The green efficiency of arable land use from west to east and from north to south shows a decreasing trend;the adjustment of green efficiency of arable land use mainly starts from crop sowing area, agricultural water consumption and agricultural workers;according to 2003-2018 total factor productivity changes of arable land use in Xinjiang are mainly influenced by both technological progress and technical efficiency.(2)By observing the local Moran index,it is concluded that there is an obvious spatial correlation of green efficiency of arable land use in Xinjiang from 2003-2018,and the main ones in the high value aggregation area are Karamay and Turpan, and the low value aggregation areas are Altai,Kechu,Aksu,Hami and Kashgar, and the low value aggregation of green efficiency of arable land use is obvious;by analyzing the center of gravity and standard deviation ellipse model of arable land use in Xinjiang The center of gravity of green efficiency of arable land use in Xinjiang was analyzed by the center of gravity and the standard deviation ellipse model, and the center of gravity of green efficiency of arable land use was considered to be located in the northwest of Bazhou, moving first to the southeast, then to the northeast, and finally to the northwest.(3)Based on the measurement results of green efficiency of arable land use in Xinjiang,a geographically weighted regression model is selected to analyze the influencing factors of green efficiency of arable land use in each region, and based on the comparison of the mean values of regression coefficients of influencing factors from 2003 to 2018 it is concluded that GDP per capita, replanting index, and effective irrigation rate are positive influences on green efficiency of arable land use, while population density, industrial structure, and urbanization rate are positive influences on the mean values of regression coefficients compare that GDP per capita, replanting index and effective irrigation rate have positive effects on green efficiency of arable land use, while population density, industrial structure and urbanization rate have negative effects on green efficiency.
