The chemical components in natural medicines play an integral role in the treatment of certain diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, hypertension and inflammation.Cyclocarya Paliurus(Batal.)Iljinskaja(C.Paliurus)is a kind of perennial herb plant and one of the traditional herbal medicine,in which the phenolic acids have drawn much attention.Among these compounds, the benzoic acid and ferulic acid have anticancer, hypoglycemic activity and so on.However, the separation and purification of the active ingredients is very difficult because of their low content in natural drugs.Up to now,the conventional separation and purification techniques are too complicated, the workload is extremely high and chemical reagents are consumed. So it is important to prepare functionalized porous adsorbent materials and use them for the selective separation of active ingredients in natural drugs by its adsorption-desorption properties. In this paper, phenolic acids were selected as the target compounds, and ethyl cellulose was selected as experimental materials. And then, the porous adsorbent material of ethyl cellulose microspheres was prepared by using of the solvent-evaporation method. The adsorption and desorption behaviors of microspheres of benzoic acid and ferulic acid in the extracts of C.Paliurus were investigated. On this basis, the adsorption mechanism was initially discussed, and the main research contents and results were as follows.(1)To establish a method for the simultaneous determination of nine active components of protocatechuic acid, vanillic acid, rutin, isoquercitrin, benzoic acid, myricetin, luteolin, apigenin, and kaempferol in C.paliurus extractive from different parts and different areas. The results of the optimum conditions for extracting 9components from C.Paliurus are obtained under single element experiment: Methyl alcohol volume fraction of 80 %,liquid ratio of 1:20(g/m L),extraction time of 70 min, extraction temperature of 60 ℃.On this basis, the purpose of one test to evaluate these nine active ingredients in the extracts of C.Paliurus was achieved. The method is highly simple and accurate with good repeatability, which can provide the basis for evaluating the quality of C.Paliurus.(2)An appropriate amount of ethyl cellulose microspheres was used to test the adsorption performance of the extract of C.Paliurus in a constant temperature water bath oscillator at 25 ℃.Firstly,it was founded that the solution of desorption contained a large amount of benzoic acid, which purity is up to 80 %.And then, the solution of desorption contained a large amount of ferulic acid, which purity is up to70 %.The adsorption behavior of benzoic acid and ferulic acid onto the studied materials were investigated.Whereas the adsorption of benzoic acid followed the pseudo-first-order kinetic model and ferulic acid followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model on the ECM adsorbents. It is confirmed that the ECM adsorb benzoic acid in extract of C.paliurus is physical ideas.Due to the later elution of benzoic acid mainly depended on hydrophilia.
