In the context of the new economic normal,China’s industrial economy is focusing on shift from the factor-driven development mode to the efficiency-driven development mode.In order to make the industrial efficiency improvement based on technological innovation which plays a central driving role in the future development of the industrial economy,and to implement the basic national policy of energy conservation and emission reduction,an accurate measurement of efficiency must be carried out.Therefore,this study conducts research on the measurement and decomposition of industrial total factor energy-environmental efficiency from 2006 to2016 of 30 provincial administrative units in China.Furthermore,this study discusses time and space trends of industrial efficiency separately,and then analyzes its spatial-temporal evolution comprehensively.To reveal the reasons of the efficiency evolution,this study also constructs the evolution mechanism of industrial efficiency.The main research contents include the following aspects:(1)Research on China’s provincial industrial total factor energy-environmental efficiency based on common frontier DEA model.Under the common frontier,Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Jiangsu,Shandong,Fujian and Guangdong are DEA efficient.After considering the heterogeneity of industrial technology in the provinces,the group order by ranking the gaps between common frontier and group frontier from small to large is group 1,group 2,and group 3.From the results of productivity analysis,technical change is the power factor that stimulates China’s industrial productivity growth.However,efficiency change has become the main reason for restricting the development of China’s industrial productivity.(2)The spatial-temporal evolution of China’s provincial industrial total factor energy-environmental efficiency.From the perspective of time dimension,the change characteristics of efficiency can be described as“low-low aggregation,high-high aggregation”.From the perspective of spatial dimension,the efficiency is significantly positively correlated spatially.The efficiency type transition mainly occurs in the LH quadrant and the LL quadrant.From the perspective of spatial-temporal evolution,the efficiency has strong stability.The state types of efficiency in most provinces have not changed.And the state transition probability of each province’s efficiency is significantly correlated with the spatial lag type.(3)Research on the impact mode of China’s provincial industrial total factor energy-environmental efficiency.According to the significance of influence factors,traffic conditions,industrial structure,foreign trade,R&D investment and environmental regulation are high-quantile significant;traffic conditions,industrial structure and foreign trade are low-quantile significant.But only economic level,industrial structure,firm size and energy intensity have significant spatial spillover effects.In the high-quantile driving mode,Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Fujian,and Shandong are theHHt→HHt+1transition,and Guangdong is theHLt→HHt+1transition.In the low-quantile driving mode,Jiangxi and Anhui are theLHt→HHt+1transition,Hubei and Hunan are theLLt→HHt+1transition,and Jilin is theLLt→HLt+1transition.In the low-quantile constraint mode,Shanxi,Inner Mongolia,Liaoning,Heilongjiang,Henan,Chongqing,Sichuan,Guizhou,Yunnan,Shaanxi,Gansu,Qinghai,Ningxia,and Xinjiang are allLLt→LLt+1constraint. |
