In the context of economic globalization,traditional intra-industry division of work has gradually been replaced by increasingly frequent international division of work.GVC specialization has not only led to the redistribution of production profits worldwide,but also various types of pollution emissions as " The "unexpected output" has shifted along GVC.Due to the differences in the status,the impact of countries’ participation in GVC on the environment also varies.From a practical point of view,China,as the world ’s largest developing country,is a beneficiary of integration into GVC.It has made huge economic gains by actively participating in GVC,but at the same time is also exposed to the risk of environmental degradation.As the world’s largest carbon emitter,China has assumed more pressure and responsibility in global climate governance.Therefore,it is necessary to correctly understand the impact of participating in GVC on the environment and actively explore the path of green integration into GVC.This thesis first calculates GVC participation index and embodied carbon in trade based on the world’s input-output database,and then compares and analyzes the network characteristics of GVC embedment and embodied carbon emissions in trade from the perspective of network analysis.Based on the trade-pollution general equilibrium model,the global value chain is introduced as an exogenous variable,and the topological attributes of the network are used to measure the interrelationship and status of countries in the network.Establishing econometric models to analyze the environmental effects of GVC embedding from the perspective of network.According to the research,the main conclusions are as follows: First,the developed countries,such as the United States and Japan,have a relatively high degree of forward embedding,indicating that the developed countries are located upstream of GVC.China’s network status in the value-associated network continues to rise,and its centrality in the forward associated network gradually surpasses the backward associated network.Second,the overall structure of the carbon emission network presents an imbalance between the production and consumption sides.There is a clear phenomenon of " carbon transfer in North and South countries ".As the world’s largest carbon emission country,China’s core position in the carbon emission network is rising,but it is more involved in production rather than consumption.Third,through network correlation analysis,we found that there are also differences in the impact on the carbon emission network.The correlation coefficient between the forward associated network and the carbon emission network is negative,and the correlation coefficient between the backward associated network and the carbon emission network is positive,indicating that establishing backward associated relationship will promote the establishment of carbon transfer relationships.Fourth,coefficients of the breadth and network centrality of value-associated networks are negative,indicating that the increase in the breadth and network centrality of value-associated networks have a positive impact on environmental improvement.The difference is that the increase in the strength of forward-associated networks is conducive to the improvement of the environment,and the backward-associated networks Increased intensity will have an adverse impact on the environment.This thesis innovatively conducts a study of GVC embedding and embodied carbon in trade from the perspective of network analysis,and conducts a comparative analysis.Examines the carbon emission effect of value chain embedding from perspectives of “quantity” and “relationship”.It has important implications for China’s more scientific integration into GVC.In order to improve the environmental efficiency of participating in GVC,it is necessary to pay attention to the optimization of the degree of embedding and the embedded structure,and avoid the risk of low locked condition.It is also necessary to pay attention to the adjustment of the embedded relationship.The study found that as the embedded relationship deepens,the ability to control the network is stronger,which can resist the negative externalities of participating in GVC to the environment. |
