This paper is part of the study on "sustainable land management and forest resources monitoring" of the project " The Global Environment Facility(GEF)– the project of the Ebinur Lake regional sustainable management and biodiversity protection in China/GEF(P110661)".We take Bozhou,Xinjiang as the research area, use the technologies of remote sensing(RS)and geographic information system(GIS),and combine with the theory of Ecological Economy and Geography to study on the characteristics of the spatial-temporal dynamic change of the ecological service value in the area during 1992 to 2013;we also explore the impact of land use/cover change,socio-economic development and climate change on the ecological services value. This study aims to provide more reliable data support for the development of reasonable ecological protection and economic development policies, and to achieve the goal of efficient and sustainable use of the land resources in the study area. The results indicate that:(1)Grassland and woodland are the main advantage lands of the study area. From 1992 to 2013,cultivated land and construction land are increasing gradually.Inversely, woodland, grassland and water area are decreasing gradually. The landscape fragmentation, dominance, edge effect and contagion of the study area are decreasing slightly. The landscape is dispersive, but landscape diversity and evenness are increasing. It is indicated that land use/cover and characteristics of landscape pattern evolution change obviously with the process of urbanizations in economic development, population growth, crop planting, herdsmen grazing reclamation and engineering construction accelerating in recent years. The main advantage lands of woodland and grassland transform into cultivated land and construction land gradually.(2)It is found out to analyze the composition of ecological service value. All types of land use/cover provide total value respectively 5.61431 billion,4.52194 billion and 7.5124 billion in 1992,2000 and 2013.As far as the type of land use / cover is concerned, woodland service value is the highest, followed by grassland, water area and cultivated land. And it is found to analyze ecological service value contribution from different land use/cover types, the value contribution of woodland, grassland and water area are gradually decreasing during 1992 to 2013,inversely,the contribution of cultivated land is increasing gradually. The result is consistent with the trend of land use/cover change from 1992 to 2013.This indicates that land use/cover change directly affects the contribution of ecological service value relative to the total service value. On space scale, the spatial variation characteristics of ecological service value are characterized by the value density index of ecological service. The overall performance of spatial variability in Bozhou from 1992 to 2013 are, northeast ecological service value is high, western value is low,the lowest value areas are mainly located in the downtown, the highest value areas are mainly located in the area of Ebinur Lake and Sayram Lake.(3)In aspect of driving force analysis, the paper calculates partial correlation coefficient between ecosystem service value and annual total temperature, ecosystem service value and annual total precipitation. The results show that the correlation coefficient between ecosystem service value and annual total temperature is between-0.770 and 0.767,and the correlation coefficient between ecosystem service value and annual total precipitation is between-0.765 and 0.765.But the difference in spatial distribution is different.Temperature has a positive correlation with the ecosystem service value in the central Bortala Valley, the central mountainous and the southeast hills, and negatively relates to the eastern Ebinur Lake Basin, the western and southeastern mountainous areas.Precipitation has a positive correlation with ecosystem service value in central Bortala Valley and Eastern Ebinur basin, and negatively relates to the west and southeast of hilly mountain.Meanwhile, the paper uses principal component analysis and regression analysis to investigate the effect of socio-economic factors on driving the value of ecosystem services. The results show that economic development, agricultural modernization and policy factors on driving the value of ecosystem services are positive correlations in a certain extent, but a negative correlation of human activities.
