With the acceleration of urbanization and the continuous improvement of residents’consumption levels, the impact of urban residents’ consumption on carbon emissions is increasing.Excessive carbon emissions from residents will not only affect economic and social development, but also cause irreversible damage to the ecological environment. The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that continuous development of social productive forces to meet the people’s growing needs for a better life must also pay attention to environmental protection.Residents’ consumption involves many links and a wide range, which obviously becomes a new growth point for carbon emissions. As an old industrial base in Northeast China,Jilin Province must coordinate the relationship between consumption growth of urban residents and energy conservation and emission reduction in order to achieve high-quality revitalization and development. The carbon emissions of urban residents in Jilin Province is the main study object of this paper.According to the different expressions, the consumer carbon emissions of urban residents can be divided into residential carbon emissions and consumer products embedded carbon emissions.First, the carbon emission coefficient method was used to measure the energy consumption carbon emissions of urban residents and the embedded carbon emissions of urban residents’ consumer products in Jilin Province from 1995 to 2017.The results show that the total amount of embedded carbon emissions of urban residents’ consumer products exceeds that of urban residents. The total carbon emissions from energy use has become a new growth point.Secondly, this paper uses decomposition analysis method and quantitative analysis method to study the influencing factors of urban residents’consumption carbon emissions in Jilin Province. The LMDI decomposition method was used to analyze the influencing factors of urban residents’ energy consumption carbon emissions in Jilin Province. The results showed that the overall level of residents’ consumption showed a positive effect with the largest positive impact level; It is basically stable between 1%and 3%;the negative effect of energy consumption structure is the most obvious.Using the SDA structure decomposition method to analyze the influencing factors of embedded carbon emissions of urban residents’consumer products in Jilin Province, the results show that the positive impact of population size and population structure is small, and the effect of residents’ living standards will become stronger with the increase of residents’ consumption. The contribution rate of emission intensity effect and production technology effect is relatively large.Using the quantitative analysis method and the expanded STIRPAT model, based on the data of urban residents’ carbon emissions from the eight districts of Jilin Province(except Baishan City)from 2009 to 2017,the panel data was established. The results show the population size, urbanization rate,The per capita disposable income of urban residents has a promoting effect on the carbon emissions of urban residents, and the carbon emission intensity has a negative impact. Finally, the results of the study are summarized, and it is found that the increase in resident consumption and the expansion of the population size are the main reasons for the increase in the carbon emissions of urban residents in Jilin Province.Technological upgrades can suppress the growth of carbon emissions.Based on the above research, this paper proposes countermeasures to control the carbon emissions of urban residents in Jilin Province, that is,optimize the consumption structure, build an ecological livable city, promote technological progress and innovation, rationally adjust the population structure, promote low-carbon lifestyles and so on. |
