Nuo culture is China’s ancient folk culture with deep historical and cultural values,Nuo is an ancient period used to exorcise demons and epidemics,pray for blessings and avoid disasters of ritual activities,but also a blend of religion,folklore,art and comprehensive culture,which includes Nuo rituals,Nuo dance,Nuo opera and other Nuo culture.The Nuo culture of Ensh is subject to a long history of closed transport,backward productivity levels and other factors,coupled with the unique natural social environment of Ensh,the formation of the Nuo culture of Ensh.Among them,Enshi Nuo masks as a symbol of the symbols in the Nuo culture in the Enshi area,in the Nuo cultural activities are essential performance props,Nuo masks are regarded as the carrier or medium of communication between the gods,but also carries the folk cultural habits of the Enshi area,the customs of the region,aesthetic and artistic style and other traditional cultural information,with strong regional cultural characteristics of Enshi.In recent years,due to the impact of technology on traditional culture,coupled with the gradual reduction of non-genetic inheritors,Nuo masks hand carving,production techniques gradually tend to decline,so the protection and inheritance of Nuo masks is not only to dust them off in museum display cabinets,but also in the traditional culture to inject fresh blood,based on the cultural characteristics of traditional Nuo masks,combined with modern design methods to achieve traditional Nuo masks and modern life.The article mainly revolves around four parts to start the discussion,the first part is oriented to Nuo masks,elaborating on the origin,development,classification and function of Nuo masks in Enshi,and then analysing the visual elements and artistic features of Nuo masks in Enshi,and comparing them with Nuo masks in other regions.The second part is an overview of cultural and creative products,further analysing the current situation of the application of Nuo masks in cultural and creative products,and the main value of the visual elements of Nuo masks used in blessing-type cultural and creative products.The third part focuses on the design of visual elements of Nuo masks in blessing cultural and creative products,proposing the design concept of cultural and creative products,as well as the cultural connotation of Nuo masks and the extraction of design elements,thus proposing the design principles of visual elements of Nuo masks in blessing cultural and creative products.The fourth part focuses on the application practice of the visual elements of Nuo masks in blessing-type cultural and creative products,and elaborates on the design ideas and redesign of the visual elements of Nuo masks and the application of the visual elements of Nuo masks in blessing-type cultural and creative products.
