In recent years,laboratory safety accidents in colleges and universities occurred occasionally.Taking a university in Tianjin as an example,this paper investigates the safety literacy of current university students,and focuses on the factors influencing laboratory safety awareness and attitude of students in chemistry and related majors,so as to propose targeted improvement strategies,with a view to providing fundamental data support for university safety education and management.Firstly,a questionnaire survey is conducted on the safety literacy of undergraduates and graduate students in the university.The survey results show that there are significant differences in genders,schools and grades;safety literacy of male students is slightly higher than that of female;and safety attitudes and awareness,and safety behavior of students in schools related to engineering majors are relatively higher,and the safety literacy of graduate students is higher than that of undergraduate students.Based on the survey results,it is proposed to implement differentiated safety education and management for different groups,to carry out safety education through a combination of online and offline methods,and to implement grid-based safety management strategies for colleges and universities.Secondly,this work investigates the relationship between chemistry learning motivation,laboratory safety awareness and safety attitudes of first-year students in chemistry and related majors.The results show that there are significant differences in genders and schools.The mean value of safety awareness and attitudes of female students are higher than that of male;the mean value of safety awareness and attitudes of students in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are the highest.There is a positive correlation between the laboratory safety attitude and their internal motivation of chemistry learning.Among them,the safety attitude of students in the School of Chemical Engineering has the strongest correlation with the internal motivation of learning chemistry.Finally,this work investigates the relationship between moral orientation and chemistry learning motivation,laboratory safety awareness and safety attitude of first-year students in chemistry and related majors.The results show that there are significant differences in schools.The mean value of moral idealism of students in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is highest.The moral idealism of students is positively related to the internal motivation of chemistry learning.Laboratory safety awareness and safety attitude are related to chemistry learning motivation and moral idealism,with internal motivation having the strongest influence on laboratory safety awareness and safety attitude,followed by external motivation and finally moral idealism.Therefore,it is crucial to strengthen moral cultivation,in addition to cultivating their interest in learning and career guidance.
