Financial Analysis Of Masteel Based On Harvard Analysis Framework

As the foundation of national economy,steel industry is one of the most internationally competitive industries in China.It plays a key role in ensuring supply,ensuring people's livelihood and ensuring development.In recent years,China's economic model has changed from high-speed growth to high-quality development.Green development and smart manufacturing have become a new theme in the development of the steel industry.During the 14 th five-year Plan,supply-side structural reform will still be the main task of the steel industry.At the same time,the steel industry will continue to face environmental policy coercion.Based on this,the management of steel enterprises will be in the face of great challenges and pressure.In September 2019,China Baowu Steel Group restructured Maanshan Iron and Steel Group.Anhui Province State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission transferred 51% of Maanshan Iron and Steel Group to China Baowu for free.Under the background of supply-side reform,the motivation of the restructuring is worth exploring.This paper selects Maanshan Iron and Steel as the example.With Harvard analysis framework,this paper makes a deep analysis of Masteel's financial situation from four aspects,namely strategy,accounting,finance and prospect,discovering the differences between Maanshan Iron and Steel and Baoshan Iron and Steel.According to the analysis,the restructuring can improve the concentration of Chinese steel enterprises,reduce the vicious competition among existing steel enterprises,and improve the bargaining ability of Chinese steel enterprises in the face of suppliers.As the combined one,how can Maanshan Iron and Steel seek development under the new situation,the paper also gives feasible opinions.In this paper,Harvard analysis framework is used to analyze the financial situation of Maanshan Iron and Steel,which enriches the industry scope of this kind of research and enhances the applicability of Harvard analysis framework.Considering merger and reorganization will still be the trend of the reform and development of the steel industry,the research of this paper has a certain reference value for the enterprises to be reorganized.
