In recent years,with the improvement of people’s living standards and the growth of cultural consumption market,cultural and creative products for specific people gradually become thoroughly developed.In the system of the whole industry,cultural development and innovation related to children’s toys have attracted more attention from all parties,and they are related to important national strategies and development goals such as high-quality development of population and the construction of a cultural power.To put this important proposition into practice from the perspective of product design and innovation,and to absorb elements and contents from traditional cultural resources to enrich the construction of "cultural" toys with high design level and practical functions are becoming important issues that need to be solved promptly.In this paper,based on the "mortise and tenon structure of assemble toy design",the mortise and tenon structure would be integrated into the toy design,so that the promotion of traditional culture can really start from children.Through literature review,this paper provides the understanding of the history and usage of mortise and tenon structure and offers an analysis of its enlightenment to modern design.The development of toys at home and abroad and cases of assemble toys has also been studied through market surveys and questionnaires,to provide understanding of the mainstream toys in the market.In-depth researches have also been conducted on the needs of consumers,clarifying the focus of assemble toys.This paper tries to find out the similarities and connections between the mortise and tenon structure and assemble toys by the method of comparative study.Based on the preliminary theory and data,four design principles of assemble toys are concluded.In the part of design practice,based on Don Norman’s emotional design theory,a logical thinking mode of toy design through perception,action and reflection is esTab.lished.Combined with the design principles,a series of assemble toys with strong interaction capabilities and open thinking mode is developed.The process includes copying and assembling from modules to a whole,and integrating products into the comprehensive practical scenes,all of which logically and culturally meet the functions of integrating traditional culture and the thinking divergence ability from "teaching with pleasure" in the process of children’s early education.Users are enabled to receive the education of traditional culture imperceptibly,so that cultural education is deeply rooted in the growth of every child.This paper and the design can provide references for the design and the development of assemble toys,and play a greater role in the field of related cultural innovation.
