Since the implementation of the reform and opening up,Chinese economy has been developing rapidly and its energy consumption has increased rapidly.In order to meet the energy demand,the Chinese oil refinery capacity is expanding.A large number of 10million-ton-a-year refinery plants have been put into operation.With the supply shortage and the lower quality of crude oil and the stricter demand of protecting environment,the refinery plants should upgrade their technology to improve product quality and seek new ways.In recent years,hydrogenation technology,becoming more and more mature,can effectively solve the problem of crude oil poor-quality.And then it is widely used.The hydrogenation units have sprung up and account for 30% of energy consumption in refineries.Therefore,it is imperative for hydrogenation units to save energy and reduce consumption.This paper studies and analyzes the energy saving optimization of the wax oil hydrotreating unit in a refinery plant in Guangdong province.First,the process principle,production process and technical characteristics of the wax hydrotreating device are introduced.Also,the data of device energy consumption over the years is collected.Then,these base data is carefully analyzed in order to find a way to save energy.And the refinery plant decides to optimize the fractionation process and carry out.Finally,the change of each index is compared for analyzing the effect of energy saving.After optimizing the fractionation process,the energy consumption of the wax oil hydrotreating unit was further reduced to less than 5.0kg EO/t,only 30% of the designed value.Then the unit can save over RMB 10 million per year in operating costs.At the same time,the better raw material is provided for downstream FCC units to produce more high value-added products.In a word,it shows that the energy saving optimization is very successful.
