With the continuous development and progress of continuous pipe drilling system,the continuous pipe drilling technology has been gradually developed from the traditional cable-free drilling system to the cable drilling system.As an important part of continuous pipe drilling downhole assembly(BHA),orienter restricts the development of continuous pipe drilling technology in China.Aiming at the problem of long steering period and low precision of traditional hydraulic orienter,this paper designs a kind of electric orienter driven by continuous pipe drilling.Firstly,the principle and characteristics of the existing orienter at home and abroad are investigated,and the main technical parameters and overall scheme of the orienter are determined according to the requirements of the actual drilling site and downhole drilling tool assembly on the orienter.Secondly,the key parts of the orienter were numerically simulated by using software Ansys and Fluent,and the reliability of the orienter was verified by mechanical analysis of the external joint,the electronic cabin and the transmission crankshaft,and the flow field analysis of the flow channel structure was carried out to determine the optimal flow channel structure scheme.Finally,formulate the indoor experiment plan of the orienter,process and assemble the orienter shell prototype and carry out the indoor experiment.The sealing and compressive and tensile properties of the orienter were verified through indoor mechanics experiments,and the flow channel erosion experiment on the orienter was used to verify the rationality of the flow channel structure design.
