Research On The Visual Representation Of Mogao Grottoes’ Lintel Patterns And Its Application In Home Textile Design

As an important category of Dunhuang motifs,Mogao Grottoes’ lintel patterns are not only an ancient decorative art heritage in my country,but also an important part of Mogao Grottoes art,mainly appearing in the Northern Dynasties(Northern Wei,Western Wei,Northern Zhou)and Sui Dynasty caves,A small amount of remains in the early Tang Dynasty,and then gradually disappeared.As a decorative pattern,it exhibits unique ingenuity and coordination in composition,organization and modeling.It can not only decorate grotto buildings,sculptures and murals,but can also be used for reference and applied to patterns in modern home textile design.In home textile design,the niche pattern is a traditional emerging element.Its application can not only break the traditional aesthetic and application rules,but also present more diverse styles in terms of form and visual experience.Based on the diversity,decoration and uniqueness of the niche patterns,this article focuses and systematically explores the design and application of its home textiles.Because of the chronological nature of the niche patterns,the Mogao Grotto patterns from the Northern Dynasties to the Sui Dynasty are taken as the research scope of this article.First,it summarizes the concept,development,and classification of Buddhist niches in Mogao Grottoes.The caves of this period were central tower-pillar caves and dome-clad caves.This article discusses the decorative composition,patterns,and patterns of the lintel patterns.The color and other aspects of its development from the Northern Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty are preliminarily expounded and explored,focusing on the analysis of the main pattern themes in the niche patterns of the period,such as lotus pattern,honeysuckle pattern,flame pattern,bird pattern,metaplasia pattern,and union pattern.The evolution process of bead patterns and other structures.This article analyzes the artistic characteristics of niche patterns from the beauty of form,composition,color,and symbolism,and on this basis,explores the application of niche patterns in home textile design.According to the shape and decoration range of home textile items,conduct analysis and exploration of application principles,application methods and performance of craftsmanship,etc.,so that the pattern of the niche can better fit the home textiles,and look forward to adding it to the application exploration More modern technological methods.The thesis also points out the necessity and value of the niche pattern in the home textile design from the two aspects of the design meaning and application scope of the niche pattern in the home textile,and points out that the application of the niche pattern in the home textile can become the culture of consumers.Experience and consumption of spiritual thinking.Moreover,with the gradual changes in the decorative functions of home textiles,decorative patterns are no longer just simple ornamentation and beautification,but a combination of purpose,functionality,practicality and aesthetics.On this basis,under the premise of combining the patterns,colors,and other styles of the niche,the overall home textile matching design that matches the home environment decoration is designed,and the niche pattern proposed in the previous article is used in the home textile design.To analyze and verify the application of Mogao Grottoes,and integrate the pattern art of Mogao Grottoes’ lintels into modern home textile design.The pattern of the Mogao Grottoes’ lintel is the cultural business card of Dunhuang ethnic folklore.The changes and characteristics of its pattern are the focus of the display of the attributes of the times.I hope that the research in this article will provide reference suggestions for the application of Mogao’s lintel patterns in home textile design.,Find the fit point of pursuit of individuality and innovation in modern home textile design,and provide theoretical basis and broad ideas for home textile design.It is also hoped that more scholars will in-depth study the renewable value of Mogao Grottoes and increase the social attention and popularity of Mogao Grottoes art.
