Innovative Application Of Traditional Falling Flower And Flowing Water Pattern In Modern Women’s Wear Design

The pattern of falling flowers and flowing water is an important part of traditional patterns.It condenses the wisdom of the Chinese nation that has been passed down for thousands of years.It has rich connotations and diverse forms.The traditional falling flowers and flowing water along with the poetry of the literati of the Song Dynasty began to actively appear in the daily clothing and utensils of the ancients,and gradually disappeared in the historical trend after experiencing the heyday of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The traditional falling flower and flowing water pattern not only has the consistent auspicious connotation of most traditional Chinese patterns,it is the form of sustenance of the ancients’ vision of a better life,but also reflects the unique aesthetic tendency of literati.With the development of the times,Chinese design has stepped onto the international stage,and digging the vitality of rekindling traditional patterns in modern women’s clothing design is of great significance for the inheritance and development of traditional culture.This article summarizes the development and evolution of the traditional falling flower and flowing water pattern through a large amount of literature and pictures,and discusses the aesthetic connotation behind the pattern,which provides a theoretical basis for the innovative practice of the second half of the thesis.After carrying out a lot of practice on the innovative expression of traditional falling flowers and flowing water patterns,this article summarized a variety of innovative design methods of this pattern in modern women’s clothing design,and provided a practical basis for the design practice of traditional falling flowers and flowing water patterns in modern women’s clothing.
