Research On The Female Hat Style Of Khitan

The Khitan people developed and expanded in the Xilamulun River and Laoha River,which made a great contribution to the history of northern China.In this paper,the Khitan women's hat related material and the Liao Dynasty Murals in the Khitan women's hat image data as the main research object,trying to Khitan women's hat for systematic analysis and research,is divided into four parts.First of all,it summarizes the current research situation,defines the research object and method,expounds the significance of the topic,and makes an overall control of the research on Khitan women's hat style.Secondly,the material source of Khitan women's hat style is identified from the unearthed objects,tomb frescoes,written materials,painting and poems.Thirdly,according to the collected data,the female hat style of Khitan can be roughly classified into eight categories: High wing crown,Golden crown,Cylindrical crown,Roll brim hat,Felt hat,Cotton-padded cap,Futou Headwear and Turban.Finally,it discusses the cultural connotation behind the Khitan women's hat style.It was composed of High wing crown,Golden crown,Cylindrical crown,and Turban respectively,which reflected the strict feudal hierarchy of Khitan.There were strict regulations on the wearing of hat style,and hat style became the mark of identity level.Roll brim hat,Felt hat,Cotton-padded cap,Futou Headwear and Turban embodies the Liao dynasty clear four seasons,summer heat,winter cold windy climate environment,and more nomadic economy model of profession.The High wing crown,"Mountain" crown,Cylindrical crown are decorated with flame bead pattern,Capricorn pattern and lotus base,all of which indicate that Khitan women's hat style is influenced by religious belief.The techniques of gilding,hammering,welding,carving and hollowing,as well as the decorative techniques of convex pattern,dragon pattern,phoenix pattern,Capricorn pattern,pearl pattern and symmetrical layout are all learned from the mutual communication between the Khitan and the Han and Western Asian nationalities,and Khitan female hat is also the carrier of multi-ethnic communication.
