The Application Of Kabuki's Character Image Elements In Modern Fashion Design

With the gradual satisfaction of material life needs,people began to pursue a higher level of spirituality,no longer limited to the attention to clothing materials and workmanship,but also have interests in the taste,culture and connotation of clothing and other deep-rooted symbols.The vigorous development of cultural and creative industries also needs to continuously draw inspiration from diverse cultural traditions.Kabuki,a unique traditional Japanese national drama,has a history of more than400 years.In Japan,Kabuki is listed as an important intangible cultural property,and in 2005 it was also listed as a world intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.As a drama art,the character image elements of Kabuki have their own unique cultural connotations,which can inspire fashion designers.Kabuki has waxed and waned during its development,and it has survived until now through constant adaptation and change.Applying Kabuki's character image elements to fashion design,on the one hand,is conducive to the garment industry to develop the market for consumers like drama lovers,and adds the fun of drama and personality to the clothes.On the other hand,it creates derivatives for Kabuki to increase its popularity and promotion,so as to promote its development unceasingly into the future.Based on the above reasons,the author launched the research on this subject.The author first analyzes the needs of Kabuki's character image elements in modern fashion design,and then gives an overview of Kabuki and Kabuki's character image elements,and briefly introduces the concept and source of Kabuki.Secondly,this article describes the three aspects of Kabuki's characters,including color elements,clothing elements,and makeup elements.After that,the parts that can be operated are extracted and integrated from the color elements,clothing elements,and makeup elements,and specific application methods are summarized by combining design cases and some experiments.Finally,according to the results of previous researches,a series of fashion design practices of Kabuki's character image elements applied in modern fashion design were completed,producing clothes that not only retain the Kabuki drama style,but also show fashion,vitality and modernity.Through research and practice,this article draws the conclusion that Kabuki's character image elements are practical in modern fashion design,and analyzes and summarizes the specific application methods of Kabuki's character image elements in colors,shapes and patterns of modern clothes.In the design practice,elements are selected and recreated according to clothing style and expected effect,which provides new references for modern clothing design.
