Research On Natural Disasters In The Spring And Autumn Period

During the Spring and Autumn Period,natural disasters occurred frequently,which brought great harm to social and economic development and human production and life.Taking natural disasters in the Spring and Autumn Period as the research subject,the current research deeply analyzes the environment resulting in disasters in this period,investigates the brief overview and characteristics of various disasters,and discusses the impact of natural disasters on the Spring and Autumn society.The analysis on natural disasters during the Spring and Autumn Period can be summarized from the following three aspects:To begin with,the natural and social environment of the Spring and Autumn Period was analyzed.During this period,natural environment was the main cause of disasters,which was embodied in natural elements such as climate,soil and topography.With the gradual dissolution of the subinfeudation system,the authority of the Emperor was weakened,the war among vassals broke out,and the tyranny continuously happened,so that the society was in unrest state and the natural disasters became aggravating,which is an important social factor leading to the occurrence or aggravation of secondary disasters.Then,a brief overview and characteristics of natural disasters in the Spring and Autumn Period has been investigated.Through classifying and making statistics on the geological disasters,meteorological and hydrological disasters and biological disasters as well as other secondary disasters,the basic situation of various disasters,including earthquakes,landslides,floods,droughts,fires and insects calamity as well as rain,snow and hail disasters,was reflected,the overall situation of these disasters was summarized,and their characteristics,such as the universality,the massive and concomitant occurrence as well as the large-ranging involvement,were also generalized.At last,the influence of natural disasters on the Spring and Autumn Society wasdiscussed from the perspectives of politics,economy and ideology.Firstly,natural disasters intensified the wars for hegemony among vassal states.Some countries used natural disasters as the offensive or defensive force to achieve the purpose of competing for hegemony.Some ministers and officials sought a large amount of political power and resources by virtue of the Emperor's wilderness,which had a great impact on the aristocratic politics in the Spring and Autumn Period.Secondly,Frequent disasters have led to the disability of people and the migration of the displaced,which was the cause of social unrest.For this reason,some countries have accelerated the adjustment of their economic structures and continuously built irrigation and water conservancy projects,which brought about major changes in economy and life.Thirdly,The frequent occurrence of disasters makes people innovate their ideas and deepen their understanding of the relationship between man and nature.In the trend of ideological change,the status and value of human beings were constantly rising,which reflected the gradual development of people-oriented and humane thoughts during the Spring and Autumn Period.
