Jewelry Cold Connection Design Research

Cold connection is a connection method that does not require welding.It is widely used in large scale manufacturing such as industrial production,automobile manufacturing,aerospace and also in small productions such as household goods,hardware accessories,model design,jewelry design,etc.Cold connection is closely related to jewelry,which first appeared in primitive society.Drilling and binding on shells and animal bones is the simplest way of cold connection.Throughout the development of jewelry,cold connection has always occupied an important position,that is,the functionality of connection and the functionality of jewelry wearing.For a long time,the focus on cold connections has been on how to innovate the connection structure in order to achieve better connection effect,but the aesthetic feeling of the structure itself is often ignored.With the entry of contemporary art concepts,the opening of ideas and the transformation of jewelry concept have weakened the material value and formal sense of jewelry as a whole,the boundary between jewelry and other disciplines is blurred,and the expression form of jewelry becomes rich and colorful.The concept of contemporary jewelry provides a new way of thinking for the innovative form of cold connection,and cold connection should also spread out a new form of expression under the background of contemporary jewelry.This paper starts from the cold connection.First,the concept of cold connection is explained,and the structure of classification and common connection methods are mainly sorted out.Combined with related cases,the characteristics and advantages of cold connection are analyzed and summarized.Second,the cold connection is explored from the perspective of contemporary jewelry concepts.From thecombination of form,function,structure and concept,and puts forward the feasibility of transforming cold connection to concept.The third part summarizes the expression of cold connection transformation,practices different forms,and finally the cold connection expression is applied in the creative practice of the work.
