A Research On The Application Of Topological Design Of Clothing Structure

Based on the study of clothing structure design from the perspective of topology and taking contemporary as foothold,this paper integrates the topological features,basic forms and the extension of sense organ with the multilevel understanding generated by clothing structure formation.Through interdisciplinary topological literature research and a large number of specific case analysis in recent years,this paper explores the design ideas and techniques.The framework of the paper is divided into four parts:the first part is the background meaning of the topic,and the topological attribute of the garment construction are explored by combining the inspiration of topological studies in architecture,art,linguistics and cognitive psychology;In the second part and the third part,from the interdisciplinary theoretical support,namely,metaphor theory of cognitive language topology view,continuum theory,the cognitive topological equivalence view of linguistic representation,free-form surfaces in architecture,the philosophical background of fold theory,etc.,the essential characteristic of clothing structure topology design,the design methods and the analysis of the specific case in the contemporary fashion design are discussed;The fourth part is the practice and summary of folding,manifold and knot techniques based on topological design in this design practice.The concept of topology is obscure and complicated in the clothing construction design.The concepts of deformation and continuity are hidden in the generation of clothing structure,the meaning implied in the twisted form and the visual perception of topological clothing structure.Topology is free from the conventional thinking mode of Euclidean geometry,from which the designer acquires a distinct thinking framework,rather than the replacement of simple standards,but more of a new understanding of the structure of clothing,which exists in the design thinking process of the garment construction.In the meantime,the definition of topological design itself changes with the change of clothing structure form,which is a kind of transformation form of interdisciplinary thinking.This paper strives to explore the specific design methods,functions and connotations of topological design of clothing structure by means of the theoretical inspiration of topology related fields,the illustration of topological design cases and the summary of topological design of contemporary clothing structure from the interdisciplinary perspective.
