This article is in terms of the aesthetic of clothing and different aesthetic tendencies between china and Western to study the connection and the difference between "dart" and "fold". "dart" and "fold" is the important means of modeling within the clothing, in the kingdom of fashion design they are occupied a unique and important position, so that it has some practical significance on the clothing industry to study the comparisons between them.In this paper the comparative study on "dart" and "fold" will focused on two general direction. First, the aesthetic comparison between "dart" and "fold", and this study have four aspects:first one, static beauty-"dart", dynamic beauty-"fold"; the second, beauty of logic-"dart", sentimental charm-"fold"; the third "reduction" of the appropriate body-"dart", exaggerated of "incremental"-"fold", the last one functional aesthetic-"dart", cosmetic aesthetics-"fold".The second focus of the study in this paper is:from the "intended to reserve in fold" in ancient Chinese, and the "rational dart" in modern Western to analyse the different aesthetic tendencies on the "dart" and "fold" between Chinese and Western, that including:"dart"-the focus lens in mordem times dress of West and "fold"-the aesthetics of ancient Chinese costumes; the Western "dart" of excited desires and the Chinese "fold" of desires removal.Under the influence of fashion design, the global garment industry has entered a age of changing style and ever-changing patterns. I believe that in the historical period of garment industry's technology explosion, "dart" and "fold" can bring us more surprises, because the clothing mould and creativity can not without the perfect match of "dart" and "fold".
