Research On Urban Furniture Design Under The Background Of Jing-Chu Culture

Along with the global opening and integration,China's urban development also boasts a fast-changing momentum,nevertheless brings some development issues and perplexities.As an example,the lack of local regional cultural context and the difference of urban characteristics that lead to lots of issues of urban furniture in urban construction,such as similar shapes and structures,insufficient human care,vague local characteristics,and the lack of close connection with the surrounding environment.Therefore,it has become a key issue to consider how to integrate historical and cultural context into the design of urban furniture,find the balance point between the new and old,traditional and modern ones,create urban furniture with local cultural characteristics,and show urban cultural regional features.This paper takes urban furniture under the background of Jing-Chu culture as the main research object.First of all,expounds relevant literature with regard to urban furniture at home and abroad,appreciates the current situation of urban furniture development and existing issues of urban furniture design in China.There is one more point that it clarifies the concept of "urban furniture" and appraises the difference between it and similar concepts.Afterward,a comparative study is based on typical cases at home and abroad and in particular,the practical application cases of some existing urban furniture in Jing-Chu region are investigated and analyzed.By taking into accounting the development of Jing-Chu culture and the classification and extraction of Jing-Chu cultural characteristics,this paper explores the basic way of composing urban furniture with Jing-Chu cultural characteristics.With a strong emphasize the exploration of urban furniture design strategies under the background of Jing-Chu culture,it puts forward relevant design principles,design methods and design elements system,providing design ideas and theoretical basis for the final design practice.Finally,this paper verifies the above theories and viewpoints through designing practical cases.The core of this paper lies in the integration and penetration of Jing-Chu culture with the local urban furniture design.The main task and direction of this paper is to extract thelocal cultural context and shape the urban furniture design elements with the characteristics of Jing-Chu culture in the principle of science and technology and art integration and innovation.The development significance of this paper is to improve citizens' cultural quality and life happiness through the construction and dissemination of Jing-Chu cultural urban furniture and to provide new ideas for urban furniture design under other regional cultures.
