Zheng is an ancient plucked instrument in China,which belongs to the "silk" musical instrument in the "eight notes".It is regarded as one of the most distinctive national musical instruments because of its classical national charm.There are still many different opinions about the origin of Zheng.At present,the earliest known record of Zheng is in Sima Qian's book of history·lisjian Zhuke book in Han Dynasty.It mentions the scene that Zheng was used as an instrument in Qin Dynasty.Therefore,it is also called "Qin Zheng" in later generations.Along with the trend of national musical instrument improvement since the 1940s and 1950s,guzheng instrument,as an important member of traditional Chinese musical instruments,its improvement has also been carried out.The improvement of national musical instruments in the 20th century is divided into many different stages,each of which is different due to different historical and social backgrounds,so the focus and results of the reform are different.In the first half of the 20th century,most of the improvement of national musical instruments was spontaneously promoted by professionals on cooperation with the folk.In the next 50 years,culture has its own personality and is constantly developingIn this paper,the government led "Zheng improvement" in the 60 years since the founding of new China in 1949 to 2009 is taken as the research object to study and analyze the influence of instrument shape reform and instrument shape reform on performance techniques and Zheng music creation.The 21st century is a multi-cultural century.From the perspective of the beginning of the new century,we should re-examine the history of"Zheng improvement" and analyze its advantages and disadvantages in order to understand the new development opportunities of traditional Zheng art in the future.
