Standardization of research methods is a basic requirement of scientific research and a necessary condition for obtaining scientific data.At present, there are few and not enough in-depth studies on standardization of research methods, the influence of different research conditions on the results is unclear, and there is no relevant study to explore and evaluate the results of instantaneous scanning sampling. Therefore,we chose video recording to take the activity time allocation of black and white snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus bieti)as an example. The standardization research of instantaneous scanning sampling method was carried out to solve the following scientific problems: 1)The influence of scanning interval on the results of activity time allocation;2)The influence of the number of scanning individuals on activity time allocation;3)The influence of scanning direction on the results of activity time allocation. In June-December 2020,in the southern section of Baimaxueshan national nature reserve in shielding white snub-nosed monkey national park in eco-tourism show black-and-white snub-nosed monkey population as the research object, use VCR to show group of continuous tracking video black-and-white snub-nosed monkey, and get 410 hours of video data, including 100 hours of video data effectively,At present,a total of 50 hours have been processed and 2.7 million individuals have been scanned.Video recordings are used as research materials for comparative study of different observation methods in indoor. Results: 1)The result errors of 1 min,5 min and 10 min scanning intervals were less than 10%,and the behavior errors of other scanning intervals were greater than10%;All the behavior errors of 1 min and 5 min scanning intervals were within the allowable range of 5% error, and all the other scanning intervals had behavior errors greater than 5%.Within the error level of 2%,only the errors of all behaviors at 1 min scanning interval are within the allowed range, and the errors of other scanning interval results are greater than 2%;2)At the error level of 10%,the number of individuals scanned at a single time should reach 66.7% of the number of visible individuals; At the level of 5% error, the number of individuals in a single scan should reach 80% of the number of visible individuals; At the error level of 2%,the number of individuals in a single scan should reach 93.33% of the number of visible individuals.3)Progressive scanning can accurately obtain all behavior data at different error levels, and left-right alternating scanning at 10% error level can accurately obtain all behavior data.In this paper,it is confirmed that different scanning intervals, number of individuals in a single scan and scanning direction will affect the research results.Secondly, the application scope of each condition is also different at different error levels. From the input return ratio and the feasibility of field operation, the progressive scanning mode should be selected for all levels. At the 10% error level, the scanning interval of 10 minutes should be selected, and the number of individuals scanned at a single time should reach at least 66.7% of the number of visible individuals. At the 5% error level, the scan interval of 5 minutes and the number of individuals in a single scan should be selected to reach at least 80% of the number of visible individuals; At the 2% error level, only 1 minute scanning interval is available, and the number of individuals scanned in a single time should reach more than93.33% of the number of visible individuals. Therefore,it is suggested in this paper that appropriate time interval, number of scanned individuals and scanning direction should be selected for future research on animal activity time allocation, and clearly described in the research method to facilitate the comparison between different studies.
