Most captive giant pandas only rely on artificial insemination for breeding right now,but artificial insemination not only threatens the health of giant pandas but also blocks the cap-tive giant panda rewilding.Giant pandas show strong mating preference during natural mating encounters.Mating preference is crucial to the success of natural reproduction.Previous stud-ies have shown a correlation between the vocalization of giant panda and its mating result.Vocalization plays an important role in coordinating natural mating.Therefore,audio-based prediction of giant panda mating results is feasible.The thesis researches and realizes a scientific,non-contact,and automated giant panda mating result prediction method,which can predict the mating results of giant pandas in advance.It assists researchers to perceive the status of giant pandas during natural mating and provides a decision basis for implementing necessary intervening measures in time.The system will increase the success rate of giant panda natural mating and accomplish more scientific breeding of giant pandas.The main works completed in the thesis are as follows.Firstly,a giant panda vocalization data-set is constructed.To this end,we design and implement a set of microphone array collection equipment based on Raspberry Pi,and use the equipment to collect the vocalization of giant pandas during the breeding session.By combining the newly collected data and the historical data,we finally construct a 4.5-hour data set.All data are labeled by hand.Secondly,we propose a giant panda sound event detection algorithm based on sound event detection theory.The proposed algorithm realizes the effective detection for the sound of the giant panda.Third,the way giant pandas show their mating preferences,through vocalizations,is sim-ilar to the way human beings show their emotions by voice.Therefore,we introduce a speech emotion recognition algorithm to analyze the vocalization detected by the above sound event detection algorithm to predict their mating result.Finally,based on the above two algorithms,a giant panda breeding management platform with the ability to automatically predict the mating results of giant pandas was designed and implemented.
