With the advancement of urbanization,urban development is facing increasing problems,such as how to allocate public resources in cities and how to plan for urban construction.The important role of advanced concepts,technologies and methods in urban planning is becoming more and more obvious.Urban 3D visualization technology has the advantages of carrying true three-dimensional model,virtual real scene,three-dimensional space measurement,and realtime reappearance,which can better support scientific urban planning and construction.Based on the OSG open source platform,this paper studies the application of 3D visualization in urban planning.It aims to make up for the shortcomings of traditional urban planning techniques by using the advantages of 3D visualization of OSG,and provide a better means of urban planning and decision-making.The scientific,rational and usable nature of urban planning.The main research work is as follows:(1)Through the elaboration and analysis of 3D visualization technology,research and use OSG rendering mechanism to comprehensively evaluate the application value of OSG platform and 3D visualization technology in urban planning;(2)Based on the OSG platform and GIS 3D visualization technology,the important functional modules involved in urban planning are designed and implemented.The heterogeneous 3D data model and multi-source data loading,two-dimensional integrated display and spatial interactive query,space measurement,field of view analysis,sunshine analysis,skyline analysis,height control analysis,program management and other functions;(3)Developed an urban 3D visualization spatial information service platform based on OSG,and combined with the analysis of the demonstration area of Houshan Town,Rizhao City,verified the rationality of 3D visualization based on OSG technology in urban planning application.
