The greenhouse effect caused by greenhouse gas emissions has become a common concern all over the world. The continuous accumulation of the greenhouse effect not only has a negative impact on global climate and environment change, but also leads to a series of problems such as the increase of diseases and insect pests on the earth, sea level rise and land desertification.According to the statistics of the international energy agency(IEA,2009),China surpassed the United States in greenhouse gas emissions in 2007,becoming the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gas.Although the Chinese government has set a series of strategic goals in energy conservation and emission reduction, and is continuously promoting the transformation of the production structure of the power industry to promote low-carbon development, the emission reduction situation is still not optimistic. At present,China's energy demand is on the rise, and it is difficult to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the short term due to the impact of traditional economic growth mode. However,as a big developing country,it is also inevitable that China should make emission reduction commitments commensurate with its economic capacity.Although the use of electricity does not emit greenhouse gases, but the consumption of coal and other primary fossil energy generation process will produce a large number of greenhouse gases. In China, the power industry consumes more than 50%of the country's coal and contributes more than 40%of carbon dioxide emissions, making it the largest emission sector. To reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the power industry,we must first understand the emission level of the power industry,so as to formulate appropriate emission reduction plans systematically. Therefore, accurately estimating the emission level of China's power industry is conducive to controlling the future emission changes of the power industry, thus promoting and helping the realization of the national energy conservation and emission reduction targets. Therefore, this paper first determined the accounting scope and method, and selected appropriate "activity level data" and "emission factors" to comprehensively calculate the greenhouse gas emissions of 30 provinces in China's power industry from 1997 to 2016,and made a comparative analysis of the calculation results from the overall and provincial levels.Secondly,China has a vast territory and resource endowment, and there are big differences in natural resources, population, economic and technological levels in different regions, which may lead to regional differences in greenhouse gas emissions.Combined with the characteristics of China's power industry, this paper starts from the perspective of renewable energy, takes the renewable energy utilization rate index as the standard for regional division, and analyzes and discusses the regional differences in the utilization of renewable energy. Finally, the STIRPAT model is expanded and improved to introduce relevant indicators of renewable energy into the model to explore the influencing factors of greenhouse gas emissions,so as to provide reference and basis for formulating scientific and reasonable policies on greenhouse gas emission reduction.
