Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has developed continuous-ly,but in the process of pursuing economic growth,the extensive consumption of energy has brought some problems.Energy has become the constraint of China's economic development.To grasp the distribution of energy efficiency and improve energy efficiency are very important for sustainable development of economy.Firstly,this paper uses data envelopment analysis(DEA)to measure energy efficiency values of most provinces and cities in China(Objects of study do not include China's Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and Tibet since we have not get enough data.)from 1998 to 2016.Then we analyzes the current situation of energy efficiency of eastern,central and western regions in China.Moreover,we decompose China's total factor energy productivity from 1998 to 2016 according to the Malmquist index method,and analyze the provincial energy efficiency trends.In order to demonstrate how the low-carbon economy affects energy efficiency in China,we construct the so call low-carbon GDP as the output variable based on the concept of Green GDP.The results show that China's TFEE(Total Factor Energy Efficiency)is high in the East,followed by the central region and low in the West.There is a certain increase in energy efficiency in most regions.Among them,Shanghai,Fujian and Beijing have the highest energy efficiency values in the country.The worst situation of energy utilization is in Ningxia,Qinghai,and Shanxi.Accoding to comparison analysis,the advantage of the low-carbon GDP method was shown.Secondly,by using Moran's I and LISA(Local Indicators of Spatial Associa-tion)methods,it shows that there are obvious spatial auto correlation and spatial aggregation phenomena in provincial energy efficiency.Furthermore,the article uses a spatial quantile auto-regressive model to analyze the impact of seven factors including technical level on energy efficiency values at different quantiles.The results show that the level of economic development and industrial structure have a significant role in promoting energy efficiency.There is a negative correlation between resource endowments,government intervention and energy efficiency.The degree of opening to the outside world has no significant impact on energy efficiency.Only at a high energy efficiency level can the technical level play a certain role in promoting.At lower energy efficiency levels,energy prices have a significant negative impact on energy efficiency.By comparing with ordinary spatial auto-regressive model,this paper expounds the advantages of spatial quantile auto-regressive modes in the analysis process.
